Since his return to the squad, Varun has come out as the top bowler for the team on multiple occasions. In 2025, he is the 3rd highest wicket-taker as of now and in the previous edition of IPL, Varun was the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the league.

4) Arshdeep Singh - Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings have invested years in training Arshdeep Singh, and eventually the franchise and team India are getting the desired results. He is a lethal pacer who is known for his expertise during the death overs. Arshdeep Singh was the fourth highest wicket-taker in the previous edition of the league. He can be a match-winner, can bring out the best out of the whole team in tough situations. Punjab Kings have retained him during the IPL 2025 mega auction using the RTM rule and they have hit the right chord.

5) Harshal Patel - Punjab Kings

Harshal Patel had a very disappointing start to his international career. However, when it comes to the Indian Premier League, Harshal came out as the purple cap winner in the previous edition of the league. He has always been a consistent performer in the league and there is a possibility that with the new franchise, he might be motivated to start on a strong note.
