The IPL Auction 2025 is shaping up to be a thrilling event, with several uncapped players attracting significant attention from franchises. These young talents, with their exceptional skills and potential, could command hefty price tags as teams vie for their services.
1. Vaibhav Arora
The right-arm pacer has shown glimpses of brilliance in his nascent IPL career, showcasing pace, control, and a knack for hitting hard lengths—qualities that make him a potent force in the powerplay.
Vaibhav made his IPL debut in 2022 with Punjab Kings, claiming three wickets in five matches. In 2023, he was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders, where he grabbed five wickets in as many games. However, it was in IPL 2024 that Vaibhav truly came into his own.
Given an extended run by KKR, he scalped 11 wickets in 10 matches, including clutch dismissals of Abhishek Sharma in the Eliminator and Travis Head in the Final. His performances were instrumental in KKR’s title-winning campaign, establishing him as a reliable bowler in high-pressure games.
2. Ashutosh Sharma
Ashutosh Sharma lit up IPL 2024 with his explosive batting performances for Punjab Kings. A dynamic right-hander, Ashutosh thrived under the Impact Player rule, stabilizing the middle order and finishing innings with devastating efficiency.
With a stunning strike rate of 167.25, Ashutosh’s performances were a rare bright spot for Punjab Kings in an otherwise dismal season. Punjab, armed with a sizeable ₹110 crore purse, will likely attempt to retain him, but his fireworks will undoubtedly attract interest from multiple franchises eager to secure his services.
3. Rasikh Salam Dar
The right-arm pacer from Jammu & Kashmir has steadily emerged as a promising talent in Indian cricket. Known for his wicket-taking ability, Rasikh turned heads with impressive performances in IPL 2024 and the Emerging Asia Cup. After limited opportunities with Mumbai Indians (2019) and Kolkata Knight Riders (2022), Rasikh found his stride with Delhi Capitals last season, claiming nine wickets in eight matches. In the Emerging Asia Cup, he further impressed with nine scalps in four games, including a stellar 3/25 in the semifinals against a strong Afghanistan side. At 24, Rasikh’s consistency and ability to shine in tough situations make him a valuable asset for any IPL team.
4. Abhinav Manohar
Abhinav Manohar has displayed immense promise as a middle-order batter, despite limited opportunities in the IPL. Representing Gujarat Titans since his debut in 2022, Manohar has accumulated 231 runs at a strike rate of 132.75, often delivering impactful cameos.
Recently, the Bengaluru-born batter showcased his full potential in the Maharaja T20 League, amassing 507 runs at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 196.5 and an average of 84.5. His ability to anchor innings and unleash power-packed finishes makes him a perfect fit for franchises seeking a dependable middle-order batter who can double as a lower-order power-hitter.
5. Angkrish Raghuvanshi
Angkrish Raghuvanshi burst onto the scene during the U-19 World Cup in 2022, where he was one of the leading run-scorers. In IPL 2024, the Delhi-born batter announced his arrival in style for Kolkata Knight Riders, smashing a quick-fire fifty in his debut innings at No. 3.
In his maiden season, Angkrish accumulated 163 runs in seven matches at a blistering strike rate of 155.23. With a wide array of strokes and exceptional power-hitting ability, Angkrish is poised to become a marquee player if given consistent opportunities. He has all the tools to make an indelible impact in the IPL.
These uncapped players have already shown glimpses of immense potential and their performances suggest they are ready to shine on the biggest stage. Franchises will be keen to invest in their potential and secure game-changing talent for the upcoming season.
