IPL Retention List 2025

The Indian Premier League is in the spotlight again because all the franchises have shared the list of their retained players. The time has come for the franchises to build the rest of their team on the basis of the retained players.

BCCI and the IPL committee made some changes to the retention policy. They allowed the franchises to retain 6 players with the help of the RTM rule. RTM rule states that any player who, the franchise has failed to retain, they can buy the player offering the highest bid in the IPL 2025 mega auctions.

The franchise can plan the retention of 6 players on their own. It’s up to the franchise regarding the number of players they want to retain and RTM. A franchise can retain 3 players and RTM 3 or they can retain 5 players and RTM a single player.

There are also some minor changes in the retention slabs. The new retention slabs are 18 cr, 14 cr, 11 cr, 18 cr, 14 cr, and 4 cr (uncapped). A franchise can also pay a higher amount than the minimum slab.

The online betting on IPL will begin once the new season comes closer.

As per the retention list, some big names have been released and some unexpected names have been retained. The mega auctions are now scheduled to take place next year and some major changes are expected in every squad.
