Ireland Fined for Slow Over-Rate in Third Women’s ODI Against India

Rajkot, India: Upon the conclusion of the third women ODI against India, Ireland has to pay a fine for their slow-over rate in the game. Further reports state that:

  • GS Lakshmi, the match referee of ICC International Panel penalised Ireland when they were left two overs short from the target despite giving time allowances.
  • According to the Article 2.22 mentioned in the ICC Code of Conduct drafted for the players and their support personnel; the fine was imposed.
  • It states that players with minimum over-rate offence are have to pay five percent of their match fee as the penalty. This is in regards to every over they fail to bowl within the stipulated time allotted.
  • On-field Umpires Akshay Totre and Kim Cotton, third umpire Virender Sharma and fourth umpire Vrinda Rathi levelled these charges.

Ireland Women Team Captain Gaby Lewis Accepted the Fine
