Match referee penalised Ireland Women’s team for a slow-over rate in their third ODI game against India. Ireland fell two overs short from the marked target after considering the time allowances.

Rajkot, India: Upon the conclusion of the third women ODI against India, Ireland has to pay a fine for their slow-over rate in the game. Further reports state that:
- GS Lakshmi, the match referee of ICC International Panel penalised Ireland when they were left two overs short from the target despite giving time allowances.
- According to the Article 2.22 mentioned in the ICC Code of Conduct drafted for the players and their support personnel; the fine was imposed.
- It states that players with minimum over-rate offence are have to pay five percent of their match fee as the penalty. This is in regards to every over they fail to bowl within the stipulated time allotted.
- On-field Umpires Akshay Totre and Kim Cotton, third umpire Virender Sharma and fourth umpire Vrinda Rathi levelled these charges.
Ireland Women Team Captain Gaby Lewis Accepted the Fine
Captain of Ireland team, Gaby Lewis agreed to the penalty and pled guilty to the same. It helped in escaping the formal hearing, otherwise done.
