The visitors have received a big blow before the start if the 2nd fixture as Kane Williamson has not recovered from his injury that took place during the tour of Sri Lanka.
Kane Williamson already missed out on the first Test but he was expected to recover before the 2nd Test. However, he is currently at home recovering from the injury and now the star batter is expected to play in the 3rd Test at Mumbai.
"We're monitoring Kane and he's tracking in the right direction but isn't yet 100% fit," said New Zealand coach Gary Stead. "We're hopeful to see further improvement over the coming days and have him available for the third Test. We'll give him as much time as possible to get himself ready, but certainly continue to take a cautious approach."
Because of the absence of Kane Williamson, the odds on the online betting apps in India will be impacted.
Kane’s absence in the batting unit of the visitors will be a major void for the team. In his absence, Will Young is expected to replace him at number 3. Young was also part of the first fixture against India.
