For the first time in the competition's history, the finals will be held at a predetermined venue: the Basin Reserve in Wellington. The men's and women's elimination finals are scheduled for February 1, followed by both championship matches on February 2.
"The Super Smash continues to gain popularity, and it's exciting to see it become more accessible to fans across the country," said NZC CEO Scott Weenink. "This tournament showcases our game to both new and existing fans while promoting our domestic teams and emerging talents. It's quickly becoming New Zealand's favorite summer domestic competition, and with over 1.3 million viewers tuning in on TV last year, we anticipate even greater engagement this summer."
The tournament will coincide with New Zealand's men's white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which includes T20Is and ODIs running from December through January 11. New Zealand's women players are expected to participate throughout the tournament. The absence of the men's international players will definitely have an impact on the betting odds offered by the cricket betting sites.
