Mumbai Indians have stormed into their second Women's Premier League (WPL) final in three years, defeating Gujarat Giants by 47 runs in the Eliminator held on March 13, 2025, in Mumbai. Her efforts in the 18th over, which went for 22 runs, completely derailed the Giants’ bowling attack.
Gujarat Giants’ miserable outing in the field continued as they allowed Mumbai to cross the 200-run mark. The target of 214 was always going to be a monumental task.
Giants Fall Short in the Chase
Gujarat Giants’ chase got off to a disastrous start as they lost key players Beth Mooney, Harleen Deol, and Ashleigh Gardner during the powerplay. Despite some resistance from Phoebe Litchfield, who scored a quick 31 off 20 balls, and Danielle Gibson's fighting 34 off 24 balls, the asking rate continued to climb.
