RCB Suffers Another Blow as Shreyanka Patil Ruled Out of WPL 2025

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been dealt another major setback ahead of the third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) as star bowler Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out due to injury.
The highly anticipated tournament kicked off on February 14, but RCB will have to defend their title without one of their key players from last season. Patil, who was named in the squad, failed to recover in time from her shin injury, forcing the team management to look for a replacement.

To fill the void left by Patil, RCB have roped in experienced all-rounder Sneh Rana. Rana has already joined the squad, having traveled to Vadodara earlier this week as part of RCB’s pre-season camp. The former Gujarat Giants player brings valuable experience to the team, having featured in 12 matches across the previous two WPL seasons. She even captained Gujarat in two matches when regular skipper Beth Mooney was sidelined.
Interestingly, Rana went unsold in the WPL 2025 auction but now finds herself in the defending champions' squad, ready to prove her worth. Her ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes her a crucial addition to an RCB side struggling with multiple injury concerns.

Patil’s absence is a massive blow for RCB, considering her stellar performance in the 2024 season.
