We are back in the Garden City for yet another season of IPL. Last season, the bowlers were smoked to all parts of the ground, where the highest ever team total and match aggregate were registered at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Expect a flurry of runs in the first home game for RCB against the Gujarat Titans. Fast bowlers dominated with 52 wickets, with Yash Dayal leading the charge with 10 wickets, and Mohammad Siraj also bagged 7 wickets at Bengaluru last season. While spinners have had little to no assistance and managed to bag 18 wickets in IPL 2024.
RCB’s bowling lineup has been spot on this season, led by Josh Hazlewood, who has picked up 6 wickets in 2 matches and was the top bowler on both occasions for RCB. Yash Dayal, after a rough start against KKR, bounced back with a two-wicket haul against CSK. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled lovely lines and lengths and was accurate in his first game for RCB this season. These three fast bowlers will be key to their team’s success against the Titans.
Gujarat Titans bowlers were taken to the cleaners in the opening game, where they conceded 243 runs, but Sai Kishore was the standout with a three-wicket haul. In the last game against Mumbai Indians, it was Mohammad Siraj who led the charge with wickets upfront. Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore shut the door for Mumbai Indians in the middle overs. Kagiso Rabada found his rhythm and will be eyeing to make an impact at a venue where he picked up 6 wickets in 2 matches and overall has a very good record against RCB (18 wickets in 8 matches).
