After a month of Vitality T20 Blast, it's time for red-ball cricket to take centre stage once more in the domestic game in the UK. There may be a Test series between England and India still providing plenty of thrills and spills but the County Championship continues to offer another fascinating season.
Round ten offers five fixtures all being played simultaneously in the County Championship Division One and there is plenty still to play for with teams coming into this gameweek having completed nine of 14 fixtures.
Round Ten In The County Championship Division One
| Venue | Home Team (League Position) | Away Team (League Position) |
| Taunton | Somerset (4) | Durham (6) |
| Southampton | Hampshire (7) | Nottinghamshire (2) |
| Hove | Sussex (3) | Essex (9) |
| Scarborough | Yorkshire (8) | Surrey (1) |
| Birmingham | Warwickshire (5) | Worcestershire (10) |
Although Surrey lead the charge in the division, they have just a one point lead over Nottinghamshire in second place with Sussex a further 16 points behind.
And at the foot of the table, Worcestershire sit on 73 points with Essex 15 points better off although both sides have won only one of their nine games.
Betting Analysis For This Round
Across this gameweek, three of the home sides are favourites to win - Somerset, Sussex and Warwickshire - with only the top two teams, Nottinghamshire and Surrey, favourites to pick up victories on their travels.
Unsurprisingly, Worcestershire, who have a solitary victory to their name, are the longest shot for this round and can be backed at 2.38.
Can Anyone Stop Surrey - Betting Analysis For The Season
With odds only available for the champions in Division One, we have no intelligence to share on the relegation places, but there is certainly some value to be had at the top of the table.
- Surrey are experienced when it comes to being top of the table and seeing it through, they can be backed at 1.57 to make it four in a row.
- Nottinghamshire are only one point behind Surrey and are primed to pounce - surely there is value to be had with the Trent Bridge side priced at 4.00.
- Sussex last won the championship in 2007, the third time they lifted the trophy since the turn of the century, and if you fancy them to end 18 years of hurt this season then get behind them at 13.00
