Cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar was bestowed with the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Awards ceremony held in Mumbai on February 1. This accolade serves as a tribute to the extraordinary career of the Indian batting maestro, who has left an indelible mark on the sport. With an illustrious career spanning 24 years, the 51-year-old played 200 Test matches and 463 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), amassing a staggering 34,357 international runs, including 100 international centuries. The BCCI, in a statement, acknowledged Tendulkar’s unparalleled contributions, emphasizing how he carried not just his bat but the hopes of an entire nation. Bumrah and Mandhana Shine at BCCI Awards

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah was honored with the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for the third time. Bumrah, who was recently named the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year (2024), had a phenomenal year, finishing as the No.1 ranked bowler in Test cricket. He took 71 wickets in 13 Tests in 2024 and was instrumental in India’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, where he was named Player of the Tournament.

On the women’s side, India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana continued her dominance by winning the Best International Cricketer (Women) award for the fourth time. Mandhana had an outstanding 2024, scoring 747 runs in ODIs and 763 runs in T20Is. She also delivered a remarkable performance in the Test match against South Africa in Chennai, where she recorded a career-best score of 149.

Among the other awardees, Sarfaraz Khan and Asha Sobhana were recognized as the Best International Debutants in the Men’s and Women’s categories, respectively.
