Top Batters Who Might Ignite Bidding Wars in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

The Indian Premier League action is all set to take place in 2025 again. However, before the real action begins, the franchise will take part in the IPL 2025 mega auction to fulfil their squad requirements.

All the franchises have released the list of their retained players and some surprises have come out in the list. During the IPL 2025 mega auction, we will see some of the best players trying their luck to get a huge amount from the franchise in the league.

Some new faces and some experienced faces will be seen during the auctions but considering the previous edition of the league, the batters will be in the spotlight during the auction. Betting on IPL will also take centre stage as soon as the mega auction finishes.

1) Rishabh Pant

Former skipper of Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, was released from the team this year. He made his comeback to the Indian Premier League after an absence in IPL 2023 because of his life-threatening road accident. However, the player did a fine job individually but there was no change in the performance of the team. Pant will be on the list of every franchise that is looking to strengthen their middle order in the league.
 

2) Phil Salt

Phil Salt is one of the upcoming T20 specialist batters from England. He made his debut in the Indian Premier League in 2023 with Delhi Capitals but left the franchise after the seasons and joined Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. He was part of the squad and played a crucial role for the team. Salt was the 2nd highest run-scorer for KKR in IPL 2024 but surprisingly the franchise chose to release him from the squad. There is a possibility that the franchise might buy him back from the auctions and he will be the target of other franchises as well.

3) Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan is one name that has slowly disappeared from international cricket after showcasing an immense talent. He was not getting enough chances to prove his worth and things turned sour with BCCI and the selection committee. However, when it comes to IPL, Kishan is one name who can do wonders for the team he is part of. After getting released from Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan is all set to try his luck in the mega auction.

4) Glenn Maxwell

One name that never fails to entertain in T20 cricket is Australia’s heavyweight Glenn Maxwell. Royal Challengers Bangalore released Glenn Maxwell this year but there is a possibility that he might be joining the team again through RTM rule. In any case, Glenn Maxwell is a name that will catch the eye of every franchise during the mega auction and there will be a huge bidding war that is expected as soon as his name appears. Even though his previous season was a disaster due to an injury but Maxwell will hit a big number in his contract in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
