WPL 2025: SWOT Analysis of Royal Challengers Bangalore

WPL 2025: SWOT Analysis of Royal Challengers Bangalore

The defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore are coming at full throttle to play the third season of the Women’s Premier League. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the trophy last year after a bumpy ride at the league stage and this year they will come with high hopes to repeat their performance in WPL 2025 and the legal WPL betting apps in India will have the right odds for the team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to qualify for the playoffs in the first season of the league as they finished 4th in the point table with 2 wins and 6 losses. Their net run rate stood at -1.137.

During their campaign in the previous edition, RCB witnessed major inconsistency in the team but they managed to qualify for the playoffs as they finished at the 3rd spot in the point table with 4 wins and 4 losses. Their net run rate stood at +0.306.

During the playoffs, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians to cement their space in the finals. In the final fixture, RCB defeated Delhi Capitals in a low-scoring fixture.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is a star-studded team with Smriti Mandhana as its leader. She has led the team from the front and has always set an example for the other players. The leading wicket-taker from the previous edition Shreyanka Patil is also part of the team and that gives Bangalore an extra edge in the league.

The team management acquired Prema Rawat from the mini auctions for a price tag of INR 1.20 Crore. However, the injuries of Sophie Molineux and Kate Cross have been a big blow for the team this year. Charlie Dean and Heather Graham are the two replacements. Sophie Devine is also missing out as she has taken a break from the cricket action and Kim Garth will be her replacement.

In this article, we bring you the SWOT Analysis for RCB in order to help you choose the right tip from cricket betting tips.

Strength

There are primarily two main strengths of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The first one lies in their batting unit where skipper Smriti Mandhana and Australia’s Ellyse Perry will take the charge. Perry suffered a minor injury recently but there is no news on her absence from WPL 2025. In the previous edition, Ellyse Perry was the top-scorer in the league and she was also the top-scorer in WBBL 2024.

Another strength of Royal Challengers Bangalore will be their bowling unit. They already have Shreyanka Patil in the team and they don’t have to worry about a spin attack. With the signing of Kim Garth and Heather Graham, Bangalore has also solved the problem of pace attack.

Weakness

The injury woes have come out as the biggest weakness for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The absence of Sophie Molineux, Kate Cross, and Sophie Devine will hurt the right team combination of the team. The trio have been replaced by three new players who are making their debut in WPL. They will be playing with extra pressure and that might not work in favour of RCB.

Opportunity

Royal Challengers Bangalore team management has managed to sign India’s 20-year-old Raghvi Bist. She has been a fabulous performer in domestic cricket for Uttarakhand in recent tournaments and hence her presence will be a big opportunity for the team. Bist will be expected to play for the team in the middle order. She has maintained her strike rate at 129.50 with an average of 31.60 and that is a positive news for the team.

Weakness

Considering the right team combination, Royal Challengers Bangalore are more dependent on their top order to score runs. If the opening partnership of Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry fails, the whole batting unit might collapse because of the unwanted pressure.
