WPL 2025: UP Warriorz Sign Chinelle Henry as a replacement for injured Alyssa Healy

UP Warriorz in WPL 2025 have signed West Indies middle order batter Chinelle Henry as the replacement for injured Alyssa Healy. The Australian and UP Warriorz skipper has suffered a stress injury in her right foot.

The absence of Alyssa Healy is a big blow to the team and it will create a major void in the squad and it will impact their winnings odds on legal WPL betting apps in India. It is because of her injury, that Healy missed out on the t20 series of Women’s Ashes as well. She only played the last Test fixture of the series in the middle order but the discomfort in her foot was clearly visible.

Chinelle Henry, a 29-year-old middle-order batter from West Indies, will be making her debut in WPL this year. She is an experienced player who can also play the role of a pace bowler in the middle order.

She comes with an immense experience in international cricket. Chenille has been part of the West Indies T20i squad since 2013 and has played 62 fixtures scoring 473 runs at an average of 14.78 with a strike rate of 91.13. In 2024, Chenille has played 15 T20 internationals scoring 108 runs at an average of 21.60 with a strike rate of 127.05.

On the bowling front, Chenille Henry has picked up 22 wickets in 62 T20 internationals at an economy of 6.84. In the 2024 season, she has collected 6 wickets in 15 fixtures at an economy of 6.46.

Chinelle Henry can’t match the depth of Alyssa Healy in the team but it will be interesting to see how she plays her first season of WPL. UP Warriorz have already struggled in the last two seasons and their winning odds are also not in their favour on the Indian betting sites.

WPL 2025 - Replacements in Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore are also going through tough times. They have signed two new replacements for Sophie Devine and Kate Cross. Heather Graham and Kim Garth will be the two replacements respectively.

Sophie Devine is taking a break from cricket for a while and Kate Cross has not been in action since December because of her back injury. Heather Graham is coming to play WPL 2025 after her fabulous performance in WBBL 2024. She picked up 13 wickets in 11 fixtures at an economy of 8.

Kate Cross is a pace bowler for England who has been part of their T20 squad since 2013. She has played 18 T20 internationals scalping 14 wickets in 18 matches at an economy of 7.32.

Both players have already joined the Royal Challengers Banglore camp for WPL 2025. They will be expected to be part of the paying XI since the first game.
