It was a stunning win for Zimbabwe in the first ODI but the visitors bounced back immediately and levelled the series with a win in the 2nd ODI. Now the decisive fixture will see the best cricket out of the two teams.
In this article, we have done a deep analysis of both teams and have listed down some key players from both sides who might help their respective teams to clinch the series. The Indian betting apps have uploaded the best odds for ZIM vs PAK 3rd ODI.
Zimbabwe vs Pakistan 2nd ODI - Summary
It was not a good day for Zimbabwe overall. Since the start of the fixture things were not turning out to be in the favour of the hosts. Pakistan was determined to control the game and they did exceptionally well.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first worked against the team and the batters failed to score runs in front of Pakistan’s ferocious bowling attack. The opening partnership between Joylord Gumbie and Tadiwanashe Marumani was broken at an early stage and they both lost their wickets without making an impact.
Dion Myers and Sean Williams tried handling the situation but it was not enough for the team. Myers scored 33 off 30 balls at a strike rate of 110 and Sean Williams collected 31 off 39 balls at a strike rate of 79.49. However, once their partnership was broken, the rest of the team failed to score runs.
Pakistan's bowling unit did a fabulous job by keeping good control over the game from the start. Abrar Ahmed was the star as he picked up 4 wickets in 8 overs at an economy of 4.13. Salman Ali Agha scalped 3 wickets at an economy of 3.71 in 7 overs. Saim Ayub and Faisal Akram contributed with a single wicket each.
The batters from Pakistan were not under pressure because it was a low-scoring fixture and the chase was easy. Saim Ayub opened the game with Abdullah Shafique and the duo completed the chase on their own.
Saim Ayub was on fire and he scored 113 off 62 balls at a strike rate of 182.36 and Abdullah Shafique scored 32 off 48 balls at a strike rate of 66.67. Zimbabwe’s bowling unit completely failed to scalp a single wicket.
Zimbabwe vs Pakistan 3rd ODI - Key Players
1) Saim Ayub - Pakistan
Even though Pakistan lost the first fixture, they made a courageous comeback in the 2nd ODI and Saim Ayub looked on fire with his bat. He scored a century and played the ODI format with a T20 attitude. He was expected to put on a show for his team against Zimbabwe and in the 3rd ODI, he might just become a match-winner once again.

Unfortunately, Zimbabwe are again dependent on their most experienced and star performer Sikander Raza to turn things around.
