After winning the World T20 Qualifier in October, Zimbabwe will come back in action in the ODI cricket after a break of one month. They will be hosting Pakistan for a 3-match ODI and T20i series.
Pakistan, on the other hand, recently travelled to Australia and scored a win in the ODI series but they were unfortunate to lose the T20i series. However, playing against Zimbabwe is an opportunity for them to bounce back in international cricket.
Zimbabwe has made some major changes in their squad for both the ODI and T20i series. The host will be hopeful to win the series against one of the biggest teams in the world in white-ball cricket. Online betting sites in India have uploaded the odds for the 1st fixture.
For years, Zimbabwe has struggled in international cricket due to the political issues in the country. However, in the last few years, the hosts have shown positive signs of improvement.

Zimbabwe will be under the leadership of their experienced leader Craig Ervine. The middle-order batsman has experience playing the ODI format for more than 14 years. He will also act as a valuable all-rounder for the team during the series.
With Ervine, Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams will be the other two experienced duos who will be expected to take the team towards winning the series. Sikandar Raza has been the quintessential player for Zimbabwe and he will be the talk of Pakistan’s preparations.
Three new faces have been added to the Zimbabwe squad. Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa and Tinotenda Maposa are the three new players who will be expected to make their debut for the team in the ODI format.
Trevor Gwandu and Tashinga Musekiwa have already earned their T20i cap but Tinotenda Maposa - a 21-year-old, will be expecting to earn his maiden cap for the team. Tinotenda Maposa has played only 3 first-class fixtures where he has picked up 4 wickets at an economy of 6.29.
Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava will be the two leading bowlers who will be expected to give the team a good start with their pace.

Zimbabwe vs Pakistan ODI Series - Key Players for Zimbabwe
1) Craige Ervine
The Zimbabwe skipper is in his last leg of international cricket because of the age factor. He is 39-year-old but he is still an active run-scorer for the team. When it comes to the ODI format, Craig is the leading run-scorer for Zimbabwe this year. However, the hosts have not played much of the ODI format. He is not part of the T20 series and hence the ODI skipper won’t be under pressure and he will be free to play his own game against Pakistan.

Richard Ngarava is another player to watch out for from Zimbabwe. His pace has been doing rounds in international cricket and Ngarava has come out as a successful pacer against some of the best batters in the world. When it comes to the 50-over format, Richard Ngarava is the leading wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in 2024 and that makes him a key player in Zimbabwe.
