Monank Patel, an Indian-born American cricketer, captains the United States national cricket team. His journey began in August 2018 when he was selected for the ICC World Twenty20 Americas Qualifier tournament. There, he made a significant impact, emerging as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 208 runs in six matches.
Patel continued his impressive form in the 2019–20 Regional Super50 competition, once again topping the US team's batting charts with 230 runs in eight games. His consistent performances earned him a place in the Minor League Cricket competition in the United States during June 2021.
In recognition of his leadership and cricketing ability, Monank Patel was deservedly selected as captain of the American team for the prestigious ICC Men's T20 World Cup in May 2024.
