They batted first and posted a competitive total of 186 runs, courtesy of Usaid Amin's 78 not out and Nawodya Imesh' 57 off 36 balls. The duo added 99 runs for the fifth wicket after losing four wickets inside the powerplay. In reply, MI Emirates were restricted to 169 runs. Muhammad Uzair Khan and Asel Sigera bagged two wickets each. 

Abu Dhabi secured back-to-back victories against MI Emirates as they defeated them by 73 runs in the last edition. They finished in second spot in the 20. They secured three wins out of five games in the tournament. Meanwhile, they suffered a loss to Desert Vipers in the semifinals. They fell short of five runs to chase  202 runs. 

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Development picked solid players for this edition during the player draft. Usaid Amin could be a player to watch out for. He scored crucial 78 runs when his team were four down on 32 runs. Nawodya Wijayakumara showed the same character with the bat. Wicketkeeper-batter Mayank Choudhary is a player to watch out for. He went out cheaply in the last game. Uzair Khan will also surprise you with his wicket-taking ability.

Gulf Giants Development are coming off a winning start to the 2026 ILT20 Development Tournament. They enter the matchup with a dominant victory against the Dubai Capitals. They restricted Dubai on 138 runs on a good batting surface. Gulf made a mockery of the chase as they finished the victory line in 10.5 overs. With this win, they reached at the top of the table, thanks to a heavy NRR boost. 

Sagar Kalyan smashed a fine half-century off 29 balls. Ansh Tondon and Shamsudheen scored 42 runs each with a strike rate of more than 200. Nabeel Aziz, Muhammad Zuhaib and Awais Ahmed picked up two wickets each in the victory. The Giants finished fourth in the last edition with three wins out of five matches. Gulf Giants suffered a 86-run loss to the eventual winners, Sharjah Warriors in the semifinals.

Gulf Giants retained in-form players for the 2026 edition. Sagar Kalyan, who contributed 230 runs in the last edition, scored a half-century in the opening game. Tanish Suri wasn't part of the playing XI but he can be picked later in the tournament. He accumulated 220 runs in the last edition. Haider Razzaq was the highest wicket-taker in the 2025 edition with 16 wickets. Junaid Shamsudheen is an all-round package, who scored 42 runs and picked up one wicket in the last game.
