There is plenty of attention on this series at the moment as it is the only men's bilateral fixture involving full member countries on Wednesday!
Equally, if the above was not enough to attract eyes, many fans of Bangladesh are keen to see if their team can repeat their impressive showings during the T20I series which they won all three matches.
Producing the same level of performance and results could be a stretch for the tourists though as Afghanistan are arguably a stronger outfit in the 50-over format and they have come out on top in two of the last three ODIs between the sides.
Afghanistan will have revenge in mind after the T20Is but Bangladesh will be overflowing with confidence so this could be an excellent clash.

BAN
It was eight months ago that Afghanistan last played a 50-over international so there will be some mental tweaks required to their approach to find the right balance between the aggression shown in a T20I and the more balanced approach shown in Tests!
After struggling in the Asia Cup, there is no place for any of Fazalhaq Farooqi, Gulbadin Naib and Noor Ahmad but the batting looks particularly strong and secure with Hashmatullah Shahidi, who captains the side in ODIs, a very consistent player in this format.
We expect the bowling load to be led by Azmatullah Omarzai at the top of the innings before the wise heads of experienced spin-duo Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi come into their own.
Afghanistan are not in the best of form but will fancy their chances in this ODI.
Hashmatullah Shahidi Total Runs Over 22.5 1.85
The skipper of Afghanistan, Hashmatullah Shahidi, has scored 60 runs in 3 matches this year, averaging 20. He is coming off the back of a really good domestic season ahead of this ODI series, where he averaged close to 35. He has a phenomenal record at Zayed Stadium, where he has scored 355 runs in 6 matches, averaging a staggering 71. We expect a good start from him to the ODI series and predict his score to be over 22 runs in this fixture.

Before Bangladesh arrived in the UAE for this tour, even their highest expectations would not have been to win all three of their T20Is but following a 3-0 whitewash they will now be looking to make it two series wins out of two!
Confidence will be high as Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues to lead the squad even in this slightly longer format and former ODI skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto will come back into the side.
The experienced pace duo, right-arm quick Taskin Ahmed and left-arm speedster Mustafizur Rahman, will provide a stern test for the Afghanistan batters while captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a fine spinner in all formats.
Bangladesh will want to continue their fine form and there will be plenty of self-belief in the camp.
Towhid Hridoy Total Runs Over 28.5 1.85
Towhid Hridoy has scored 210 runs in 5 matches this year, averaging 42. He is one of the consistent run-scorers for Bangladesh in the middle order who can play both pace and spin well. He played some match-winning knocks in the recently concluded Asia Cup. Having played most of the recent matches at Abu Dhabi, he is well accustomed to the conditions and is a safe player to bet on to score over 28 runs.

The Zayed Cricket Stadium has got faster over recent years which certainly makes for fascinating spectacles! Expect whoever bats first to look to post a total of 320+ in this game.
Total Match Score Under 518.5 1.85
The average total match score in the last three ODI matches played at Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi is 471 runs. The total match score has not breached the 519-run mark in any of the last three matches. Both teams have had a competitive, low-scoring T20I series, and we expect a similar kind of start to the 1st ODI, where a score of around 230-250 could be challenging for the team chasing. Therefore, we predict the total match score to be under 519 runs.
Afghanistan to win the coin toss 1.95
We back Afghanistan to win the coin toss in the 1st ODI match against Bangladesh at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Six of the last nine ODIs in Abu Dhabi have been won by the team batting first so it would be a big surprise if neither captain chose to do the same if they win the toss on Wednesday.
