After failing to defend a huge score of 284 runs in the first match of the tournament against Bangladesh Under-19, where they had the momentum on their side, Afghanistan once again came close but ended up on the losing side.
Batting first, they posted a competitive 235, built around a steady half-century from Osman Sadat and valuable middle-order contributions from Faisal Shinozada and Azizullah Miakhil. The lower order added late runs to give Afghanistan hope of a strong defence.
With the ball, Nooristani Omarzai impressed with three wickets, while Wahidullah Zadran bowled a tight spell to apply pressure. However, missed chances and key partnerships allowed Sri Lanka to edge past the target in a tense finish.

After losing the first match of the tournament against Sri Lanka Under-19 by eight wickets, where they were bowled out for just 82 runs, Nepal couldn’t get going in their latest outing either. Batting first, Nepal were dismissed for 130 in 31.1 overs, once again struggling to build meaningful partnerships.
The top order failed to provide a solid start, and wickets fell regularly against disciplined Bangladesh bowling. Abhishek Tiwari top-scored with 30, while Aashish Luhar added 23, but the innings lacked momentum throughout.
With the ball, Nepal tried to apply pressure but had too little to defend. The defeat highlighted Nepal’s ongoing batting concerns and the need for greater composure in pressure situations.

Wednesday’s weather in Dubai is expected to be warm and humid, with temperatures around 26°C. Light rain is forecast, along with a 32% chance of precipitation. Humidity will hover near 63%, while moderate winds of around 37 km/h may influence playing conditions.
The pitch at The Sevens Stadium has offered a balanced track favouring both the batters and bowlers. The average 1st innings score in the last five matches is 252.6, but a score of around 250-260 could be a par score considering how the pitch has slowed down considerably in the last two matches.
Teams batting first have enjoyed more success in the ongoing Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup matches at the The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, with three of the five matches at this venue being won by the side batting first.
Afghanistan Under 19 are the favourites to win this match they have a strong bowling lineup and unfortunately the results haven't gone their way so far. We back them to finish the tournament on a high with a win here.
