As the 2025 edition of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy continues to unfold in India, the tournament has already witnessed a balanced battle between bat and ball. With 14 matches completed, teams batting first and those chasing have each secured seven wins apiece, reflecting the evenly matched nature of this year’s competition. As we head into the 25th game, every result becomes crucial in shaping the path to the knockout stages. Andhra Women will play Saurashtra Women at MPCA Gwalior International Cricket Stadium, Gwalior, on 9th October from 11 am.
Andhra Women suffered a narrow loss in their first game of the tournament. Bowling first against the Chhattisgarh Women, Andhra restricted them to 110 for the loss of 6 wickets. Shristi Sekhar picked up two wickets. The chase became difficult as Andhra Women kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sneha Deepthi managed 41 runs with the ball. But lack of help from the other end saw Andhra getting beaten by 9 runs.
Karnataka Women registered a well-deserved win in their first game of the tournament. They restricted Himachal Pradesh Women in the first innings to 108 for the loss of 8 wickets. BG Tejashwini and Monica Patel picked up two wickets each. In return, Vrinda Dinesh and Nikki Prasad added 68 runs for the second wicket to help Karnataka win the game by 8 wickets.
In the last season of the Senior Women's T20 Trophy, Andhra Women finished at the top of the points table of group A, only to see them get defeated in the quarters by Himachal Women. Karnataka Women couldn’t qualify for the knockout rounds after finishing third in their group.

The Karnataka team is much more experienced than the Andhra team. Shubha Satheesh will open the innings with Vrinda Dinesh. Dinesh scored a half-century in the first game to help Karnataka start on a winning note. This must have given her sigh of relief after struggling to score runs in the last 5 T20s. Nikki Prasad will come in at number three. Prasad added 68 runs with Dinesh in the first game. Prasad played for Delhi Capitals in the WIPL 2024-25, where she scored 78 runs in 3 innings at a strike rate of 118.8.
Pooja Kumari will come in the middle with Prathyoosha Kumar, Shreyanka Patil, and Mithila Vinod. Patil is now a regular in India’s national squad. She has 20 wickets with the ball in 16 games & 19 wickets for RCB Women in 15 games. She can bowl those crucial overs in the middle. Rajeshwari Gayakwad will be the bowler to watch out for. Gayakwad has experience of 58 T20Is in which she has picked up 61 wickets.
