Australia will be confident coming into this T20 World Cup as they’ve got some of their key players in great form. Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins played a big role in leading their respective IPL franchises into the final.
Namibia have a huge challenge at their hands as they face Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins. However, Starc and Cummins may not be available for this warm-up game since they are likely to go home for a while after their IPL stint.
Namibia’s skipper Gerhard Erasmus was quite successful with the ball in their last match against Uganda. Only a few regulars featured in their bowling attack while Namibia brought in many new faces.
Nikolaas Davin has shown great promise as an opener for Namibia and has a great strike rate too. He will be a key player to watch out for in this game.
David Warner continues to be part of the Aussie squad and it can likely be his last World Cup. As a result, this is a huge event for the southpaw opener. Mitchell Marsh, who played a key role in Australia’s T20 World Cup win in UAE will be the captain in this tournament.
He’s got some T20 specialist all-rounders in Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green. Among all these players, Maxwell can deliver with the ball as well.
Others haven’t been so consistent with wickets as Maxwell. He is the X-factor in this squad and will be one to watch out for. At the top, in the absence of Travis Head, we can expect Matthew Wade or Mitchell Marsh to open the innings alongside David Warner.
Nathan Ellis would also join the XI if Cummins and Starc aren’t available for the warm-up games. In the lower-middle order, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis should be the ones tasked with finishing responsibilities.
However, since this is a warm-up match, we expect Ashton Agar to get a chance ahead of the regulars. Josh Inglis could also add strength to the middle-order along with the skipper and Glenn Maxwell.

A convincing win for Namibia in the first warm-up game of the T20 World Cup and now a bigger challenge ahead. They will be facing Australia in the next warm-up match.
This is a crucial game and Namibia should try and make the most of this opportunity where they face the Aussies in a practice game. There is nothing at stake here and they can learn from this experience.
It is important because in the Group Stage, Namibia will be facing Australia again and though we don’t see a scenario where this Australian team will lose to Namibia, Gerhard Erasmus will back his players to deliver an upset.
He’s got some promising players at the top with Nikolaas Davin and Michael van Lingen. JP Kotze at number 3 hasn’t got a great strike rate. Even in the last game, he scored 29 off 31 balls.
Skipper Gerhard Erasmus will be in a key position at number 4 and needs to build partnerships alongside JJ Smit and David Wiese in the lower-middle order.
Their key bowlers Bernard Scholtz and Jan Frylinck were quite expensive in their last outing and also wicketless. Their form is crucial and they will be the ones to watch out for in this game.
Namibia should also consider bringing in Ruben Trumplemann for this game and allow him to face the mighty Aussie batting lineup.
Michael van Lingen, Nikolaas Davin, JP Kotze, Gerhard Erasmus (c), JJ Smit, David Wiese, Jan Frylinck, Zane Green (wk), Bernard Scholtz, Ruben Trumplemann, Ben Shikongo

It is a bowling-friendly wicket where the highest T20I total recorded was 159 runs by India against West Indies. Australia should be able to post a bigger score than this against Namibia considering their batting strength. There wil be a thundershower in Port of Spain with a high of 31 degrees Celsius on the match day.

Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad will be the venue for this match. It is a low-scoring venue where the average 1st innings score is 115 runs. Nevertheless, the team batting first should push for 165-175 runs total to get themselves in a winning position.
There is no clear advantage in favor of team batting first or second. Of the 8 T20Is on this ground, the team batting first won 4 matches. It is not a particularly high-scoring venue and hence, we reckon chasing should be the preferred option.
Even if the Aussies rest some of their players who’ve just come out of IPL, they still have the upper hand in this contest. Namibia have a few promising bowlers and should be able to pose a tough challenge with the new ball. However, Australia are way ahead in this contest and will start as clear favorites to win.
