00.0Bohemian CC’s acid test against the Prague Barbarians Vandals
Prague Barbarians Vandals to win
Tournament: Czech Super Series T10 League | Format: T10 | Venue: Vinor Cricket Ground, Prague | Toss: To Bat
Bet NowIn the second game of the Championship Weekend at the Czech Republic T10 Super Series, Bohemian CC would be up against one of the strongest sides Prague Barbarians Vandals. This will be the second game of the day for the Bohemian CC after their first encounter against the Prague Spartans Vanguards. They would have good understanding of the conditions and shall look to make it count in this game.
The Prague Barbarians Vandals are a star-studded side and have several players in their squad who have represented the national team in the past. They have all the bases covered going into this game. It will be interesting to see how the Bohemian CC approaches this acid test. If they come out with a positive frame of mind we should have a good game on our hands.
This will be the second game of the day for Javed Iqbal’s side and having got a hang of the conditions the skipper would look for a strong show from his players. They played well in the group stage to come out undefeated and shall need to play out of their skins against a side as strong as the Prague Barbarians Vandals.
The side will need its openers Saqlain Saqib Mukhtar and Ali Waqar to fire in this game. They will need to play against a quality pace attack. In Sazib Bhulyan they have a good hand in the middle order. The likes of Abul Farhad, Ravindra Singh Bist and Javed Iqbal must score quick runs towards the end for the side to do well in this game.
In terms of the bowling attack the side would need Sazib Bhuiyan to strike early being their main bowler. Bist will need to bowl tight lines with the new ball from the other end as there isn’t much depth in their bowling. Ali Waqar, Abul Farhad and Iqbal will have to play good supporting role against a strong batting line-up.
Javed Iqbal (c), Saqlain Saqib Mukhtar, Zahid Mahmood, Abul Farhad, Sazib Bhuiyan, Ravindra Singh Bist, Muhammad Nabeel (wk), Ali Waqar, Waheed Ur-Rehman, Waseem Sardar Khan, Saurabh Kakaria
Pradeep Gangappa’s side started as one of the pre-tournament favorites and didn’t harm their reputation emerging as the winners of Group 3. They started with a loss against the Prague CC Rooks and haven’t looked back since. They defeated Budejovice Barracudas CC and Prague Spartan Mobilizers before winning the final against Rooks by 26 runs. With several national players in the side Gangappa would start confidently in this game.
They have an in-form top order. Sabawoon Davizi and Honey Gori played well in the group final and shall look to reignite the same magic with the bat. Divyendra Singh is also looking in good form at the moment. With Pradeep Balakrishnan, Gangappa and Andrew Sim to follow the batting line-up is made up of big hitters.
It is in the bowling department the side will need to make improvements. Sabawoon Davizi and Honey Gori must begin well with the new ball and not leak away runs as they did in the last game. Divyendra Singh, Jafar Stooman and Sagar Madhireddy shall try bowling tighter lines during the game.
Pradeep Gangappa (c), Sabawoon Davizi, Divyendra Singh, Jafar Stooman, Honey Gori, Jahanur Hoque, Sagar Madhireddy, Pradeep Balakrishnan, Andrew Sim, Uday Gali, Birendra Kumar
Weatherman predicts cloudy skies over Prague on July 11 and the game might also see interruptions due to rain. The wicket is flat and the ball is coming on to the bat nicely as we have seen in the earlier games. There is some movement off the surface for the fast bowlers and a total of 80 and above should make the side batting first confident.
A small sized venue the Vinor Cricket Ground is a good place to bat. Batsmen have to take the aerial route to score runs as the lush green outfield doesn’t allow too many boundaries. Fast bowlers who are willing to pitch the ball up have done well here in the past. It hasn’t been the best venue for the spinner as there isn’t must assistance from the surface.
The captains shouldn’t have much hesitation when they come out for the toss as the sides that have batted first have won eight out of the last ten games played at this venue. In normal course of thinking the side that wins the toss should bat first on this wicket.
At this outset we expect this game to be competitive. The Bohemian CC is a young side that has punched above its weight in the group games and they will carry that confidence forward. They are slightly weak as far as their bowling is concerned. On the other hand the Prague Barbarians Vandals have one of the strongest line-ups in the tournament with several national players in their side. This will put them in the driver’s seat and make them outright favorites.
