They were bowled out for just 116 runs, with the hosts comfortably chasing down the target in the 28th over. Fiaz Ahmed top-scored with 41 runs, while Rizwan Butt impressed with the ball, claiming three wickets. The defeat saw Bahrain slip to fourth place in the points table.
Their only victory in the Tanzania leg came against Singapore. Bahrain produced a dominant bowling performance to dismiss Singapore for just 76 runs before completing the chase in 14.5 overs.
Bahrain had also ended the previous leg with a defeat against Italy. Nepal head into the contest back off a poor campaign in the ICC CWC League Two. They are coming off a tough loss to Netherlands in the last game by 57 runs. Earlier, they had a surprise loss to Namibia in the resumption of the League Two. They fell short of just three runs in the previous game. The Asian giants dropped four straight games since resuming the action in the CWC League Two.
Earlier, they lost to Netherlands by six wickets. Namibia made a double over them as they defeated Nepal in the first game by eight wickets. They were bowled out for 157 runs in the last game. Nepal would be aiming to qualify for the CWC 2027 which will be held in South Africa. Nepal are keen to get a ticket to South Africa. They are ready to kick off their campaign in the ACC Premier Cup.
Dipendra Singh Airee could be a player to watch out for. She is the leading run-scorer with 790 runs in the CWC League Two. Kushal Bhurtel has also been a solid performer for Nepal in the long format. We back him to score above 35 runs in the upcoming game. Aasif Sheikh also has 755 runs in the tournament. Sandeep Lamichhane can make a change with his spin. He has 42 wickets so far in the CWC League Two.

The weather at Bangi on 31st July is expected to be cloudy with a high of 33°C and a low of 26°C, along with a 20% chance of rain and north winds at 11 kph.
The surface at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval, Bangi is good for batting. The surface looks balanced for the long format. Chasing is still a tough call here. It gives stability to the pacers who can pick early wickets with the new ball. In the last five matches at this ground, the average first batting score in the List-A is 243. It is a decent batting surface where batsmen need to play sensibly.
Score prediction:
If Bahrain bat first - 220-230 runs
If Nepal bat first - 240-250 runs
In the last five Men’s ODIs on this surface, chasing sides won three games. So, chasing would be a tough job and it demands good skills. The surface gets slower in the second innings. Both teams have had earlier success while batting first and they will look to bat first in this fixture as well.
Toss Prediction: Bahrain to win the coin toss.
Nepal enter this contest as the favourites to win this match. They have earlier played in Malaysia and their previous ODI success is also instrumental. Their ICC event experience will also make things better. This is also a crucial match for both teams as both teams would eye a winning start in the 2026 ACC Premier Cup.
Nepal to win.
