Bahrain are coming off a loss against Italy, while Singapore enter the contest with a disappointing loss in the previous CWC Challenge League B game. Both teams would eye to go for the comeback win.

H2H history: Bahrain and Singapore have played nine international matches against each other. Bahrain emerged victorious in all nine games.

Current Standings: Singapore are standing at the sixth spot with just one point and Bahrain are placed at the fourth spot with 9 points.

Bahrain Preview

Bahrain head into the contest on the back of a tough defeat against Italy. They will now resume their campaign in the ICC CWC Challenge League B, facing the same opponent they recently lost to. Bahrain were bowled out for just 130 runs in their previous meeting, with Italy chasing down the target comfortably in 18.1 overs. They will be hoping for a much-improved performance when the two sides meet again.

Earlier in the competition, Bahrain registered a convincing eight-wicket victory over Singapore. They bowled Singapore out for 117 before chasing down the target for the loss of just two wickets. Fiaz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 50, while Sohail Ahmed contributed 40, with the pair adding 72 runs for the third wicket. Sohail also impressed with the ball, claiming four wickets for 17 runs, while Imran Khan picked up three wickets.

Bahrain currently find themselves in a difficult position in the league. They have managed four wins from 10 matches and are sitting fourth in the League B standings, leaving them close to the relegation zone. With the league entering a crucial phase, they will need a strong performance to improve their position.

Sohail Ahmed has been Bahrain's leading run-scorer in the competition, accumulating 274 runs in nine innings at an impressive average of 45.66. He has registered two half-centuries, with a best score of 70. Asif Ali has also made a valuable contribution, scoring 221 runs at an average of 36.83.

With the ball, Imran Anwar has led the attack, taking 11 wickets at an average of 19.09. Sachin Kumar has also made an impact, claiming nine wickets in four innings. Bahrain will need both their batting and bowling units to step up if they are to turn the tables on Italy and strengthen their position in the competition.

Bahrain Predicted Playing XI:

Rishab Ramesh, Shahbaz Badar(w), Fiaz Ahmed, Sohail Ahmed, Ahmer Bin Nasir(c), Sai Sarthak, Muhammed Basil, Junaid Aziz, Rizwan Butt, Abdul Majid Malik, Imran Khan

Singapore Preview

Singapore head into the contest on the back of another disappointing defeat in the ICC CWC Challenge League B. They suffered a heavy 163-run loss to Hong Kong after the opposition posted an imposing 289 runs. Singapore's batting once again failed to deliver as they were bowled out for just 126, extending their miserable run in the competition.

Singapore remain winless in the ongoing Challenge League B 2024-26. They previously suffered a 91-run defeat against Tanzania, who posted 189 before bowling Singapore out for 98. Bahrain also comfortably defeated them by eight wickets, with Singapore managing only 117 after being sent in to bat. Their repeated struggles with the bat have been a major reason behind their poor campaign.

Their best batting performance came against table-toppers Uganda, when Singapore posted a competitive 243 while batting first. However, even that effort was not enough as Uganda chased down the target with 56 balls to spare. Aman Desai and Ishaan Swaney both scored half-centuries in that game, offering a glimpse of what Singapore are capable of when their top order fires.

Singapore currently sit at the bottom of the points table and are already out of the qualification race. They will now be looking to finish the campaign on a positive note, but they need a significant improvement with the bat and ball. The team has struggled to replicate the intensity and consistency they often show in ACC events.

Aman Desai could be one of the players to watch out for. The middle-order batter has scored 209 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.22, including two half-centuries. Manpreet Singh has also contributed 126 runs from the lower order and will be hoping to make a bigger impact in this contest.

With the ball, Harsha Bhardwaj has been Singapore's most effective bowler, claiming nine wickets at an average of 23.77. His economy rate of 5.17 is particularly impressive considering Singapore's overall bowling numbers. He will once again be one of their key weapons as they look to finally end their winless run in the competition.

Singapore Predicted Playing XI:

Suryansh Gulecha, Hari Kukreja, Girin Gune, Riaan Naik, Manpreet Singh(c), Raheel Thakkar(w), Mahiyu Bhatia, Harsh Venkataram, Kabir Berlia, Chandramauli Sridev, Aarkin Kesar

Weather Conditions

The weather at University of Dar es Salaam Ground 1, Tanzania on 12th August is expected to be cloudy with a high of 17°C and a low of 10°C, along with a 25% chance of rain and north winds at 10 kph.

BHR vs SGP Pitch Report

The surface at Dar es Salaam Ground 1, Tanzania is good for batting. It also offers a good balance between bat and ball. Spin assistance will be there in the middle overs. In the last five matches at this ground, the average first batting score in the List-A is 232. It is a decent ODI batting surface where batsmen need to play sensibly.

Score prediction:

If Bahrain bat first - 180-200 runs

If Singapore bat first - 150-160 runs

Toss: To Bat

In the last five Men's T20Is played at this venue, chasing sides have won two matches. The surface will play the first game of the tournament so the pitch will be fresh. It will be a batting-friendly wicket. The pitch has improved with each game, although batting could become slightly challenging in the second innings. Both teams have enjoyed success while batting first in the past, so they are likely to prefer setting a target in this fixture as well.

Toss Prediction: Italy to win the coin toss.

Bahrain enter this contest as the favourites to win this match. They are a superior side than Singapore in the CWC Challenge League and also have match winners. Singapore are already going through a tough phase. They are the underdog side in the ongoing competition. This is also a crucial match for both teams as both teams would eye to get a comeback win in the tournament.

Bahrain to win.
