Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters Preview

The Bengaluru Blasters enter the Bengaluru leg of the tournament with a qualification tag under their belt after dominating the Hubli leg, going unbeaten with four consecutive wins. Their last win came against the Hubli Tigers in a high-scoring thriller where they won the match on the last ball.

Bowling first, the Bengaluru Blasters bowlers were highly expensive, conceding a huge score of 197/6. Skipper Shubhang Hegde was once again the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/24. Shashi Kumar, Rohan Naveen, Praveen Dubey, and Nishcit Rao all chipped in with a wicket each.

Then, chasing down 198 runs, the Blasters got off to a quick start but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Bhuvan Raju (15 runs in 7 balls) and KL Shrijitth (25 runs in 13 balls) both looked in good touch but got out in an unfortunate way.

When the team was in trouble, it was their skipper Shubhang Hegde who stepped up, scoring 41 runs in 30 balls, while Faizan Khan, coming in as an impact player, scored 25 runs in 18 balls. However, the real game-changer was the experienced Praveen Dubey, who smashed 64 runs in 32 balls at the end, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes; he remained unbeaten, while Rohan Naveen smashed two fours in the three balls he faced at the end.

The Blasters have become the first team to qualify, also booking their spot in Qualifier 1. With two matches left, they will probably have a say in which teams might make it to the top four. As for them, they will look to keep the winning momentum going heading into the knockout stages, which also gives them the chance to tinker or experiment a bit and sort out their bowling issues.

Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters Predicted Playing XI:

Bhuvan Mohan Raju, Rohan Patil, KL Shrijith (wk), Shubhang Hegde, Samit Dravid, Wahid Faizan Khan, Praveen Dubey, S Shivaraj, Rohan Naveen, Shashi Kumar, Nischith Rao

Mysore Warriors Preview

The Mysuru Warriors had a torrid time in their home leg of Mysore, where they won just one match out of four played. However, in the Hubli leg, they turned things around and got most of the results going their way, winning two, losing one, and having one match end in a "no result" to garner five valuable points.

In their last outing, the Mysuru Warriors defeated the high-flying Gulbarga Mystics by 3 wickets in a tense, high-scoring match that went down to the last over. Bowling first, the Warriors conceded a huge score of 196/7.

Despite some really quality bowling from Arbind Rai (3/31) and Lavish Kaushal (3/25), the Warriors conceded way too many. Their skipper, Vijaykumar Vyshak, has gone for plenty over the last two matches, where his economy rate was over 13 runs per over.

Then, chasing down 197 runs to keep their season alive, the Warriors got off to a rollicking start, scoring more than 60 runs in the first six overs. LR Chethan provided that impetus with 25 runs in 12 balls. But from the other end, Ritesh Bhatkal took charge and anchored the innings from one end; he remained unbeaten on 75 runs in 42 balls, smashing 4 fours and 5 sixes.

Bhatkal got good support in the middle overs from Lakesh KS (29 runs in 23 balls) and Manoj Bhandage (24 runs in 15 balls) as the Warriors chased down the target in 19.3 overs.

With this win, they climb up to 4th place on the table and are almost on level terms with the second- and third-placed teams. However, they will need to win their next two matches, as the Gulbarga Mystics and Hubli Tigers both still have a chance of making it to the top four.

Mysore Warriors Predicted Playing XI:

SU Karthik, LR Chetan, Rithesh Bhatkal, KP Karthikeya, KS Lankesh, Yuvraj Arora (wk), Sagar Gowtham, Manoj Bhandage, Madhav Bajaj, Vijaykumar Vyshak (c), Lavish Kaushal

The pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is generally a batter-friendly track where high scores are the norm in T20 matches, but the surface also offers good assistance to the seamers early on.

We inspected the pitch right before this match, and pitch number one will be in play today. A bit of live grass has been left on the surface, which should favor the bowlers early on, but it will get better for batting as the match progresses. A score of around 180+ is a must for the team batting first to have a chance of defending it.

Toss: To Bowl

The conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium favor the bowlers. As we have seen from close quarters before this leg, there is a slight tinge of grass on the pitch which will help the seamers early on, though it gets better for batting as the match progresses. Ideally, the team that wins the toss will look to bowl first in this fixture. Furthermore, both teams are coming off the back of high-scoring run chases, so they will back themselves to chase down any target at this venue.

Toss Prediction: Bengaluru Blasters to win the coin toss

The odds are heavily in favor of the Bengaluru Blasters to win this match. They are the only team to have lost just one match this season, and that solitary loss came against the Mysuru Warriors. This is a must-win match for the Warriors; while the Blasters are already through to the playoffs and will look to experiment in this fixture, the high-stakes nature of the game means the Warriors will be well-prepared. Consequently, we back the Warriors to win this match against the odds and keep their qualification hopes alive.
