We are into the 3rd game of the Bangladesh Premier League 2022 and Comilla Victorians would be up against the Sylhet Sunrisers. It would be the first game of the season for both sides and they would be expected to do well. There are good players in both the camps with some having done well in other leagues recently. 

The Comilla Victorians have a very powerful batting line-up with some of the best hitters of the ball and this would add to their confidence. Their bowling attack also looks promising at the moment. It will be interesting to see if the Sylhet Sunrisers are able to come up with a good show and defeat Victorians in this game.

Imrul Kayes would be counting on his players to deliver a good show in their first game of the tournament. They have some of the most experienced T20 players in the squad and the team would draw confidence from this. Kayes would want his players to play their natural game and earn their first points for the season. 

The side would want to see a good start in this game from Liton Das and Sunil Narine who have lots of experience in this format. Faf du Plessis adds strength to the middle order along with Imrul Kayas and Cameron Delport and they would aim to put quick runs on the board. In Ariful Haque and Mahmudul Hasan Joy, the side is happy to have good hitters of the ball to follow. 

Shohidul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman must strike early as Sylhet have good hitters of the ball and the side would expect good spells from them with the new ball. Narine would enjoy the conditions and look to make the best use of it with Sumon Khan. Delport and Ariful Haque would need to fill well into the role of a 5th bowler for the side.

Mosaddek Hossain would lead the side for the season, and he would want to start on a perfect note. The side has good players in the team with many having done well in recent tournaments. Hossain would want his players to deliver to their true potential in this game and register a big win. 

The side would hope to see openers Mohammad Mithun and Anamul Haque set them off to a good start in this game. They have good strength in the middle order with the experience of Colin Ingram and Ravi Bopara. The side would also expect to see big hits down the order from the bats of Mosaddek Hossain and Sohag Gazi as they are very good hitters of the ball. 

The side has a strong bowling attack, and they would like to see tight bowling from the pair of Al-Amin Hossain and Taskin Ahmed with the new ball. There would be odd clouds over Dhaka on January 22. The wicket is expected to be slow as we had seen on the first day of the tournament. Batsmen would have to get their eyes set in to do well at this venue. The side batting first in the game would aim to put up a score of 150 runs or more.

Venue Details

The pitch at Shere Bangla National Stadium is good for batting but batsmen must get their eyes set in to adjust to the pace of the surface. It is a difficult venue for the fast bowlers as there is little on this surface for them. Spinners take advantage of the track as they can get the ball to turn sharply.

Toss: To Bowl

In the first game of the tournament, we saw the side chasing the score winning the game easily. It isn’t the easiest of surfaces to bat on in the first innings as bowlers get some assistance from the track. The side winning the toss should have no hesitation in opting to bowl first.
