Chepauk Super Gillies have been in top form all season and closed out the group stage by beating Siechem Madurai Panthers by six wickets. That result kept their unbeaten run intact through seven games, and they head into the playoffs looking like the team to beat.
Their batting has done most of the heavy lifting this season. Captain Baba Aparajith has led from the front with 315 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 155.17. He’s played a steady hand in the middle and will be central again in the playoffs.
Vijay Shankar has chipped in through the middle overs with 237 runs from seven games, while scoring quickly at 160. He’s also been useful with the ball, picking up eight wickets while keeping it tidy at 8.20.
Meanwhile, RS Mokit Hariharan and K Aashiq have added more depth to the line-up, both getting past 140 runs so far this season.
Abhishek Tanwar has been their main weapon with the ball, taking 13 wickets and going at 8.34. M Silambarasan and J Prem Kumar have also stepped up with timely breakthroughs.
Baba Aparajith has scored 315 runs in 7 matches, averaging 78.75. He is the second highest run-scorer in the tournament and has been the mainstay batter for the Chepauk Super Gillies. He has a pretty good record at Dindigul, where he scored 561 runs in 18 matches, averaging 35.1.

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have had an excellent run so far, heading into the playoffs with five wins and just two losses in the group stage. In their most recent outing, they brushed aside Nellai Royal Kings by 69 runs after defending a target of 183 without much trouble.
Tushar Raheja has led the charge with the bat, putting up 383 runs in seven games at an average of 63.83 and a strike rate of 187.74. Tiruppur will want him to come through again, especially since the rest of the top order has been inconsistent.
Amit Sathvik gave their batting a boost with two half-centuries and a solid forty in his last three matches. His form at the top adds some much-needed balance to the team as they head into the playoffs.
Pradosh Ranjan Paul has made a useful contribution as well, scoring 130 runs in five innings while averaging 32.50 and going at a strike rate of 107.43.
Their bowling has held up well, taking wickets across phases. Sai Kishore has been reliable, going for just 5.60 per over and picking up 10 wickets. He’s a solid bet to keep things tight again, likely under seven an over in the Qualifier. Esakkimuthu A and R Silambarasan have combined for 16 wickets, while T Natarajan is looking closer to his best, picking up wickets regularly and keeping the scoring in check at the back end.
Tushar Raheja has scored 383 runs in 7 matches, averaging 63.83. He is the leading run-scorer in the tournament. He has scored over 30 runs in six of the last seven matches and is in sublime form heading into qualifier 1. At Dindigul in 6 matches, Raheja has scored 169 runs, averaging 28.2.

NPR College Ground usually offers a good T20 wicket with something in it for both bowlers and batters. Batters have to grind it out, especially later in the game when the surface slows up. Spinners usually get involved early and tend to take control during the middle period. Fast bowlers who use off-pace deliveries often find success here.
As for the weather in Dindigul on Tuesday evening, conditions are expected to be cloudy, but the chance of rain looks very low.
The average score batting first at the NPR College Ground is 159. The highest total posted at the venue this season is Lyca Kovai Kings’ 203-6 versus Salem Spartans. We reckon anything above 180 will be competitive in this match.
We are backing the Chepauk Super Gillies to win the coin toss in the 1st qualifier against the Tiruppur Tamizhans.
Out of the four games played at the NPR College Ground this season, the captain winning the toss has opted to bowl first on three occasions. Since chasing sides have been dominating this season, it looks likely that both captains will look to do exactly that in the Qualifier as well.
Both Chepauk Super Gillies and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have delivered strong performances this season and are capable of beating any team on their day. That said, based on current form, Chepauk appear better placed for this Qualifier. They haven’t lost a game all season and already have one win over Tiruppur. This one could go right down to the wire, but if Tiruppur’s bowling clicks again, they might pull it off. If not, Chepauk are in a strong spot to keep their winning streak going.
Chepauk Super Gillies are our picks for the winners of Qualifier 1.
