UAE Bulls opened their new season with a tight six-run defeat to Deccan Gladiators after reaching 135 for five while chasing 142. The result did not fully reflect how competitive their batting looked, and there were clear signs that they can trouble stronger opponents whenever their top order finds rhythm for long enough.
Philip Salt produced an excellent stretch of form last season, collecting 151 runs across nine trips to the crease at a strike rate near 189. He should once again shape the early part of the innings and is well placed to deliver another 20 or more while scoring rapidly above the 190 mark.
Tim David’s addition has added another dependable hitter who has been in terrific touch throughout the year. His power through the middle overs gives the Bulls added depth, and the season opener showed what he brings as he hammered an unbeaten 59 from 29 balls and nearly dragged the chase across the line.
Rovman Powell and Kieron Pollard supply experience and can steady things if early wickets fall, helping the side avoid collapse.
Sunil Narine is expected to guide the attack, using his accuracy and changes of pace to unsettle batters. Junaid Siddique and Fazalhaq Farooqi should also play meaningful roles, offering different angles and rhythm through their spells.

Vista Riders opened their campaign in ideal fashion, sealing a nine-run win over Royal Champs despite posting an under-par 109 for 7. The result gave them early momentum, yet they will know their batting order needs a clearer rhythm as the tournament moves forward.
Faf du Plessis will be the one to shape the innings at the top, using his experience from various T20 leagues to manage the early overs before shifting into a higher gear once he settles. His ability to judge conditions usually helps the rest of the order work around him.
Unmukt Chand supports him through the middle and brings a clean striking approach that can bother bowlers who miss their areas. Sean Dickson and Ben McDermott follow, and both can lift the pace without hesitation. McDermott in particular showed his range by hammering 31 off 16 in the previous outing.
Dwaine Pretorius adds finishing power, and his 31 off 12 against the Champs highlighted how quickly he can swing a chase or set a harder target.
Andrew Tye brings pace and good awareness of match situations and is expected to guide the attack, and he showed his value in the first match, picking up 3-22 in three overs. Skipper S Sreesanth and Pretorius will try to find early breakthroughs with the new ball.
Sharafuddin Ashraf's spin becomes important on Abu Dhabi surfaces that reward slower methods. In the opener, he returned superb figures of 3-8 from two overs.

Sheikh Zayed Stadium's surface offers a great batting track, although it has something for the bowlers. Batters will have room to score freely throughout, while pacers extract sufficient seam and swing to trouble them. Spinners become more effective through the middle phase when they bowl accurate lines. Chasing sides benefit enormously once moisture appears on the field, turning what looked like difficult totals into straightforward pursuits.
Weather conditions in Abu Dhabi will be sticky and warm, but rain isn't going to be a factor here, which means we're guaranteed the complete 20 overs.

Teams batting first at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in T10 cricket usually post around 120 runs. In the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League, we have already seen some big totals, with the highest being Deccan Gladiators’ 141-2. In this contest, anything around 130 should make things tough for whoever bats second.
Batting first has been the winning formula at Sheikh Zayed Stadium during the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League, with all four fixtures so far decided in favor of teams setting the total. The skipper who prevails at the coin flip will probably opt to bat.
UAE Bulls may have lost their first match, but they showed how dangerous they can be as they almost chased down a huge target of 142. They will look to bounce back as they take on Vista Riders next, and their batters will look to dominate and set the tone for a win. While this is the most unpredictable format and Vista Riders can certainly push any team on their day, we reckon the Bulls have a better chance of taking a win in this one because of their stronger batting unit.
UAE Bulls are our picks for the winners of this contest.
