Bet NowThe race for the playoffs in IPL 2020 has heated up and the next game would be a very crucial one for the Delhi Capitals as they take on table toppers Mumbai Indians. Mumbai has booked a berth in playoffs winning their previous game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. As for Delhi they have lost the last three games and went down against the Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin in the last game. They need to win this one to keep their hopes of a place in the playoffs alive.
Delhi Capitals’ nightmare has been their bowling attack which hasn’t had a great season. Their batsmen have often rescued them but as the tournament enters its most crucial phase their bowling attack would need to start delivering. Mumbai Indians look a much more settled side and have batsmen and bowlers in good form. Delhi has surprised many opponents in the earlier games and they aren’t likely to give Mumbai an easy run in this game.
Shreyas Iyer’s side seems to have lost its way with three consecutive losses in the most crucial stage of the tournament. It was a poor show from their bowlers that resulted in the 88-run loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game. They have now moved to the third spot on the points table and need to end their losing run here. The race for qualification for the playoffs has heated up and Iyer would be aware of the fact that another loss can hurt their chances of making it into the next round.
The opening pair of Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan will need to lay a strong platform. While Shikhar has played well, Rahane hasn’t quite been at his best. Marcus Stoinis, Rishab Pant and Shimron Hetmyer will need to play responsible knocks as they have been throwing away their wickets in most games. Iyer has looked good down the order and along with Axar Patel will look to end the innings with big hitting.
Their bowlers have done poorly in the last few games and conceded 219 runs in the last game. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have been the only consistent bowlers for the side this season and they will need to strike early with the new ball. Ravichandran Ashwin has been in poor form and he will need to lead the attack in the middle overs along with Axar Patel, Stoinis and Tushar Deshpande.
Best Batsman – Shikhar Dhawan
Best Bowler – Kagiso Rabada
Shreyas Iyer (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tushar Deshpande
Anrich Nortje, Shreyas Iyer, Praveen Dubey, Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Ravichandran Ashwin, Prithvi Shaw, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan
It was a clinical run chase for Kieron Pollard’s side as they defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets. Pollard who is leading the side in absence of Rohit Sharma who is injured has done well. With this win the side has guaranteed itself of a place in the playoffs. Pollard and his men would take confidence from their earlier win against Delhi and shall look to gain momentum for the next round.
The opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock will look to provide a good start. The South African wicketkeeper has done well in the tournament so far. Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwari have played good knocks in the middle order and they will look to lay a good platform for the likes of Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya to knock the cover off the ball in the final overs of the game. Their batsmen have done well as a unit so far and similar show would be expected from them.
Jasprit Bumrah has been brilliant with the ball this season but the side would like to see more consistency from Trent Boult who has leaked runs most of the games. Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar are looking good for now. However the side would be expecting a better show from James Pattinson who went for runs in the last game.
Top Batsman – Quinton de Kock
Top Bowler – Jasprit Bumrah
Kieron Pollard (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Saurabh Tiwari, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

It would be an extremely hot afternoon at Dubai on October 31 and this would make the conditions difficult for the bowlers. There is hardly anything in this surface for the fast bowlers as we have seen in the last few games. The pitch has gone slightly slower than what we had seen at the start of the season and the side that bats first would need to target a score in the range of 180 runs.
The large outfield at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium offers good cushion to the bowlers given the flatness of the surface. Batsmen are able to easily play on the up at this venue and the quick outfield aids them. Spinners have done well here and picked wickets while for the fast bowlers it is all about bowling the right variations to do well here.
Sides batting first have put up massive scores at this venue in the last few games and the pitch has been a good one to bat early on in the game. This is an afternoon game and the conditions would suit the batsmen and hence the skippers should have no hesitation in opting to bat first in this game.
Delhi Capitals are under serious pressure as they go into this game. Three losses in a row have hurt their progress and their bowling attack is looking slightly off balance at the moment. They will need to regain confidence and play well as a unit to win this game here. Mumbai Indians on the other hand can breathe a sigh of relief having already made it to the next round. They have a strong batting line-up and this would make them favorites in this game.
