The 2025 T20 Blast quarter finals got off to a fantastic start on Thursday evening in South London at The Oval, although the rain very nearly got the better and prevented one of the great innings in the tournament.
Ravi Bopara rolled back the years with an unbeaten century as Northants Steelbacks beat the all-conquering Surrey side to become the first team to book their place in this year's Finals Day.
Durham is never the warmest part of the UK and that will certainly be the case on Friday evening with the temperature likely to be a few degrees or more down on what the Hampshire players are used to!
The prize is a big one though - whoever wins will be only two wins away from lifting the 2025 T20 Blast trophy.

This is a Durham side who may not have as many big name stars as some of the other counties still in the competition, but are a hard-working and consistent unit and who finished behind only Lancashire in the North Group.
Captain Alex Lees struck 400+ runs in the group stage, finishing with an unbeaten century against Northants Steelbacks, and he has been in brilliant form in the One-Day Cup throughout the second half of August.
David Bedingham is another top batter in the Durham side and the pair will be crucial, alongside other opener Graham Clark, if Durham are to progress.
With the ball, expect spinner Callum Parkinson and Matthew Potts to be key in this fixture.

Hampshire have a fine record across the history of the T20 Blast and they are also playing some excellent white-ball cricket at the moment which was there for all to see when they qualified for the final of the One-Day Cup by beating Yorkshire by 18 runs (DLS) in Scarborough last Sunday.
Runs at the top of the order from James Vince will be crucial and all-rounder Liam Dawson, who forced his way back into the England Test set-up earlier this summer, is another in strong form.
With the ball, pacer Scott Currie is likely to be the dangerman in Durham after impressing in the Hundred and during the group stages of this year's T20 Blast.
Hampshire will be confident as they travel north for this last eight clash!

Although it is September, the temperature could still be up at 18 degrees in Chester-le-Street for the toss. However, although it won't rain, it could be as low as 14 degrees by the end of the match.

There are always wide spaces in the outfield at Chester-le-Street but it is not the quickest outfield for batters to exploit. Expect a par score of no higher than 180 in the first innings of the match.
With humidity set to increase as the game progresses, we predict that both sides will want to bowl first and not have to deal with a potentially damp outfield in the second half of the game.
This looks like being an excellent contest between two teams who have been playing good white ball cricket throughout 2025. Overall though, we see Hampshire as the stronger unit and are predicting an away victory.
