Hermes DVS head into the round two clash after a narrow two-wicket loss to Excelsior'20 in their opening match. Choosing to bat first, they recovered from a shaky start of 38/4, thanks to an unbeaten anchoring innings from Ashley Grant Ostling, who made 54 off 53 balls. 

Nick Statham provided steady support with 28 runs, while Daniel Doyle and Mussayab Jamil chipped in with 16 runs each, pushing the total to a modest 138/8 in their 20 overs. Defending the target, the bowlers fought hard after an expensive powerplay. 

Spinner Aryan Dutt led the attack with a disciplined spell of 2/22, while Hikmatullah Jabarkhail choked the run flow beautifully with figures of 2/17. Olivier Elenbaas also picked up two wickets. Despite taking wickets at regular intervals to trigger a late-order collapse, the total proved just too low to defend as the opposition crossed the line with two balls remaining.

HCC are coming on the back off a seven-wicket defeat against Excelsior'20 in their opening match of the tournament. Choosing to bat first, they posted a competitive total of 171/8 in their 20 overs. Openers Tonny Staal and Teun Kloppenburg gave them a rapid start, scoring 24 off 11 and 19 off 13 balls respectively. 

Wicketkeeper Victor Wiesmeier anchored the middle order with a solid 36 off 27 balls, while Joshua Brown provided late fireworks with a quick-fire 27 off 15 deliveries. Defending the target, the bowling unit struggled to contain the opposition batters and failed to build sustained pressure. 

Left-arm spinner Clayton Floyd, Timothy Pringle, and Teun Leijer picked up one wicket each, but all three went at over eight runs per over. The attack simply had no answer for the opposition opener, allowing the game to slip away as the target was chased down with an entire over to spare.
