Eastern Titans head into the contest on the back of a four-wicket victory against Takashinga 1. They bowled out the opposition for 117 runs and chased down the total with seven overs left. Spencer Magodo smashed 78 runs off 34 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes. Their opening game was washed out against Old Hararians 1. They moved to second spot in the table with three points. 

They are making a debut in the NPL T20 Blast after an impressive campaign in the 2026 NPL Super 40, where they finished third in the standings with nine wins from 13 matches and 36 points. Their strong campaign earned them an automatic qualification spot for the next Super 40 season as well as a place in the T20 Blast. 

Titans showed good consistency throughout the competition, although they ended the campaign with three consecutive defeats. They bounced back strongly against Old Hararians in their final match, winning by 92 runs after posting 256/7. Tariro Makauyo and Spencer Magodo were the stars with the bat, scoring 94 and 71 respectively, while Prosper Mugeri returned impressive figures of 4/40.

Takudzwa Nyamugure will be one of the key players for the Titans in the shorter format. He produced several important innings during the Super 40, including a superb 96 off 70 balls against Strikers and 68 against Triangle. Captain Spencer Magodo is another important figure after scoring 71 in the final Super 40 game, while Prosper Mugeri provides a major threat with the ball. Tendai Chatara and Definate Mawadzi also add experience to the bowling attack, with Mawadzi producing three wickets against Westside and Chatara taking two.

Rimuka Cricket Club enter the matchup with a convincing start to the competition. They snatched a seven-run victory against the reigning champions while defending 143 runs. Ignace Ntirenganya bagged a five-wicket haul for 18 runs. In the next game, they earned three points with a 104-run victory over Mbizo. They posted the tournament's first 200-plus score. Tashinga Musekiwa scored 58 off 26 balls and Kevin Kasuza smashed 27-ball 48. 

They will be equally confident heading into the new assignment. They also finished top of the 2025 league stage. They recorded five wins from seven matches and edged Gladiators on net run rate to claim first place. Although they lost the final to Gladiators, Rimuka had already demonstrated their quality throughout the competition and will be keen to go one step further this season.

Victor Chirwa was arguably their most important player last season. He finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets, while also contributing 264 runs, earning him the MVP award. Ignace Ntirenganya is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with seven wickets at an average of 3.71. Nkosilathi Nungu also bagged four wickets in two matches. 

Davis Murwendo and Takudzwanashe Kaitano were also important members of the batting unit last season. Kevin Kasuza is another key batter and showed his ability to perform under pressure by top-scoring with 36 in the final against Gladiators. With the ball, Rimuka can also call upon Victor Chirwa, Tashinga Musekiwa and Brandon Mavuta. Musekiwa claimed two wickets in the qualifier against Gladiators, while Chirwa was the team's biggest threat throughout the tournament. Rimuka's bowling attack will be particularly important against a Gladiators batting line-up that scored 187/5 in last season's final.
