Romania beat France earlier in the group stage. 

Romania chased down 145 runs in the opening game against France. They dropped only one game in the tournament and it came against Austria. They avenged the group stage loss in the semifinals. Romania previously played finals in the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Sub Regional Qualifier and Continental Cup. In both games, they fell short of less than 10 runs. This time, Romania would aim to get their hands on the trophy.
