The fourth edition of the Women's CPL is about to kick in. Guyana Amazon Warriors Women to start their Campaign against Trinbago Knight Riders Women at Providence Stadium, Guyana on 6th September from 11:30 pm onwards. The TKR Women were the first season’s champions and the last season’s finalists. On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women are yet to touch the silverware.

In the last season, GAW Women finished at the bottom of the points table with just one win in four games. These included two tight games where they lost by a wicket against the champions Barbados Royals and one in the super-over against the Trinbago Knight Riders Women. GAW’s overseas roster will feature Australians Laura Harris and Madeline Penna, alongside South African pace spearhead Shabnim Ismail, renowned as one of the quickest bowlers in the women’s game. The Warriors will miss 2024’s leading run-scorer, Erin Burns, this season. Burns scored 172 runs in the last season in 4 games.

After missing out on their second title in the last season, the Trinbago Knight Riders Women will look forward to kicking off the campaign on a high note. They have signed seamer Shikha Pandey and uncapped legspinner Salonee Dangore for this season. As expected, Deandra Dottin will be leading the Trinbago side after finishing as the leading run-scorer from the TKR side.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Preview

Lauren Winfield-Hill will open the innings with Laura Harris. Winfield-Hill scored 79 runs in the last season. Her strike rate of 85 was a concern for GAW in the last season. Harris is having great form. Recently, she scored 128 runs in the last five games of the Vitality Blast T20 for Warwickshire Women. Shemaine Campbelle will come in at number three.
