Although this clash between Gandaki Province and Koshi Province sees the bottom two sides in the 2026 Men's PM Cup go head to head, there is still plenty of interest in the fixture.
That's because the last two head to heads have produced one sided games although both teams have enjoyed comprehensive victories - Koshi in 2025, winning by nine wickets and Gandaki winning by 142 runs in 2024.
Gandaki were unable to follow-up their first win of the competition on Thursday when they narrowly lost by two wickets with 64 balls remaining against Sudur Paschim Province.
As for Koshi, the ended March with defeats by seven wickets and six wickets and they look like a side totally devoid of confidence!

Gandaki Province beat Armed Police Force Club by 43 runs on Sunday but were unable to make it two wins from two and jump up the table when they lost by two wickets to Sudur Paschim Province on Thursday.
At 76/1 in the 23rd over, Gandaki looked to be well set but they quickly found themselves 116/6 before the end of the 32nd and despite some lower middle order hitting and some smart bowling were unable to force a win.
Opener Arjun Kumal has looked in strong form and hit 44 on Thursday to go with his half-centuries in two previous games and he is yet to post a score of 24 or under in this year's tournament.
With the ball, Bipin Khatri took 5/36 against Sudur Paschim Province and the left-arm spinner will be full of confidence in this game.

Koshi Province have been unable to register a victory across their opening five matches of this year's tournament but found themselves in a strong position on 115/2 before the end of the 29th over in their last game against Nepal Police Club.
Unfortunately, despite Suman Shrestha and skipper Sujan Thapaliya hitting scores in the 40s, a lack of runs elsewhere saw the team collapse like a pack of cards.
Bowling wise, the new ball pair of Dipesh Kandel and Bipin Mahato have talent and they were able to reduce their opponents to 11/4 after eight overs and a victory looked on the cards on Tuesday.
However, a lack of depth across the bowling unit, combined with the batting frailties mean that Koshi Province are once again still looking for their first win of the campaign.

According to the weather forecast, this will be another hot day in Birgunj although not quite as sunny as recent days. Expect the temperature to be at least 35 degrees for most of the game and humidity under 35%.
The Narayani Cricket Ground is not the quickest and often there is low bounce for the batters to contend with. Whoever bats first will be looking to get over a par total of 210.
Many of the games in this competition have seen low scoring fixtures and it would be no surprise to see another. As a result, and with both sides struggling with the bat, we expect both teams to choose to bowl first.
