It is fair to say that both Indonesia and Vanuatu are somewhat out of their depth in the Super Six stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier but one of these teams will get their first victory in the stage in this clash!
Indonesia were beaten by Papua New Guinea by 38 runs in their last match following a 41 run defeat against Japan - two games where they have not been thrashed but haven't been able to get within striking distance.
It was over a week ago when both sides got their respective wins in the previous stage, but another victory cannot come soon or enough for either Indonesia or Vanuatu.
Indonesia made an impressive start in their last game against Papua New Guinea when they reduced the opposition to 31/3 inside the powerplay with all dismissed batters going for single figure scores.
Sudhakar Jegannathan was the standout bowler for Indonesia in that clash, returning figures of 2/14 from four overs while Gede Arta also impressed when conceding only 21 runs from his four overs.
Jegannathan then stood up with the bat, making 24 runs at the top of the order with Kavin Chaddha top scoring on 30 - skipper Danilson Hawoe is also in good form down the order.
Indonesia have two or three top quality players but the rest of the side does not seem up to the required level.
Sudhakar Jegannathan, Dharma Kesuma (wk), Kavin Chaddha, Gede Priandana, Sampath Kharvi, Danilson Hawoe (c), Gede Art, Ketut Artawan, Aprilianda Rahayu, Ferdinando Banuneak, Kadek Gamantika
Even with a reduced target of 81 runs from eight overs, Vanuatu were beaten by Cook Island by 11 runs (DLS) in their last game when they could only reach 69/5.
Although the bowler tend to cause problems to the batters when they first come in, unless they make early inroads then they are quite easy to get away at a high strike rate.
Tim Cutler, Williamsing Nalisa and Joshua Rasu are likely to be the main threat with the ball.
Batting wise, Andrew Mansale and skipper Rasu are the main boundary hitters in the squad.
Joshua Rasu (c), Patrick Matautaava, Womejo Wotu, Andrew Mansale, Nalin Nipiko, Junior Klatapau, Clement Tommy (wk), Nicholas Venables, Tim Cutler, Williamsing Nalisa, Darren Wotu
No rain is forecast during this game with the temperature likely to be in the high teens and early twenties. Humidity levels are likely to be in the 50-60% range.
The Sano International Cricket Ground is a consistent surface with the ball not coming onto the bat at a huge pace. Expect a par score to be in the region of 140-150.
Neither team have flourished with the bat in the Super Six stage so we predict that both teams will choose to bowl first if they win the toss ahead of this game.
