Multan Sultans have a tough battle on hand as they take on the Karachi Kings in the 16th game of the Pakistan Super League 2021. Karachi Kings sit comfortably at the top of the points table and come here with a massive win against Peshawar Zalmi. Multan Sultans lost to Quetta Gladiators in their last game and have managed to win only one game so far in the season which adds to the pressure on the team. 

Karachi Kings have dominated the Multan Sultans in the past and of the six games played between the two teams the Kings have won five of them and shall carry that confidence into this game. They had defeated Sultans earlier in the season and it remains to be seen if the Multan Sultans are able to bounce back in this game.

Karachi Kings Preview

Imad Wasim would be happy to find his side at the top of the points table. They have played well in most of the games so far and come into this game with a 6-wicket win against the Peshawar Zalmi where their batsmen chased down a big total clinically. They have had excellent record against the Multan Sultans in the past and shall like to carry on with the same. 

Babar Azam is in excellent form at the moment and the side would be expecting a good start from him and Sharjeel Khan. They have a settled middle order where Joe Clarke, Colin Ingram and Mohammad Nabi have been among the runs and the same would be expected from them here. In Daniel Christian and Imad Wasim the side has good hitters of the ball down the order. 

Mohammad Amir has impressed so far in the tournament and shall look to strike with new ball alongside Mohammad Illyas. Abbas Afridi and Nabi bowled well in the last game and shall carry this confidence here. The side would hope to see better lines from Imad Wasim and Christian who have been expensive in most of the games so far.

Multan Sultans Preview

It hasn’t been a great show from Mohammad Rizwan’s side so far in this tournament. They have managed to win just one out of their five games so far. They went down against the Quetta Gladiators in the last game by 22 runs and had lost to the Karachi Kings earlier. Rizwan needs to guide his side to a win here to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the playoffs. 

The opening pair of James Vince and Rizwan has done well and the side would be expecting an electrifying start from them here. It is in the middle order that the side is struggling and they would need good show from Shan Masood, Rilee Rossouw and Sohaib Maqsood. They have good hitters of the ball lower down the order in Carlos Brathwaite and Sohail Khan. 

Imran Khan and Sohail Khan will be looking to strike with the new ball in this game. They had done well in the last game. Shahnawaz Dhani has looked good and the presence of Imran Tahir adds strength to this attack. They would also be looking for good support from the likes of Brathwaite and Khushdil Shah in this game.

National Stadium Karachi has one of the best batting surfaces in the world and this allows the batsmen to play their stroke easily. Spinners who use their variations have done well at this venue as there is turn on offer. It is a bad surface for the fast bowlers with little assistance for them of the surface.
