Leicestershire will take on the Notts Outlaws at their home venue in Leicester. They have won all three games played at Grace Road so far. In their last game here, the Foxes chased down a 151-run target with 6 wickets in hand.

Notts Outlaws were struggling with the bat with two consecutive losses while chasing 199 and 175 runs. And in their recent outing, their batters finally came good, as they chased down a 207-run target with 6 wickets in hand.

Foxes and Outlaws come into this game on the back of a convincing win. Outlaws will back themselves to end the Foxes’ unbeaten run at home. Skipper Joe Clarke will be a key batsman at the top for the Outlaws, while Tom Moores and Daniel Sams are the finishers in this lineup.

The visitors would need a strong bowling performance to win this match, given the dominating batting performances of Leicestershire at this venue.

Leicestershire Preview

After the batting collapse at Headingley, Leicestershire Foxes bounced back with some impressive batting performances in their next two games. Rishi Patel and Solomon Budinger have given them good starts in both outings.

They will be crucial against the Outlaws. The visitors bring a great variety in their bowling attack with a couple of reliable wicket-takers. Shan Masood has looked decent in the middle order at number 3.

However, the right-arm legbreak Rehan Ahmed, who’s been promoted to number 4 on many occasions, hasn’t managed to strike at a faster rate. Skipper Louis Kimber is another middle-order batter at number 5 who hasn’t been very consistent.

Nevertheless, there is great batting depth with wicket-keeper Ben Cox and all-rounder Logan van Beek at 6 and 7, in fine touch. Beek, especially, is a reliable finisher lower down the order.

The Foxes have been impressive at home with the bat, and we expect them to put up another brilliant batting performance in this match. Logan van Beek, Tom Scriven, and Ben Mike will be leading the pace attack for the hosts.

Rehan Ahmed will be supported by left-arm orthodox Liam Trevaskis in the spin department. In their last home game, Leicestershire Foxes restricted the opposition to 150 for 8, bowling first.

Leicestershire Predicted Playing XI:

Nottinghamshire Preview

After suffering three consecutive defeats, Nottinghamshire managed to win their 3rd match of the season as they beat Birmingham Bears by 6 wickets in their last game.

Their batting had suffered in their previous outings while chasing a competitive total. But in the recent game, Joe Clarke, Lyndon James, Freddie McCann, and Tom Moores led the successful run chase.

Moores’ unbeaten 74 off 33 at number 5 was the match-winning knock that led Outlaws to 212 for 4. Skipper Joe Clarke is a key batsman at the top. His strike rates have been impressive, and he has scored two fifties in his last 3 innings.

While Jack Haynes is still struggling to find rhythm at number 3, Clarke’s opening partner, Lyndon James, finally found his form after two failures in previous matches.

The batting lineup is deep, much like the opposition, and with Daniel Sams at number 6, the Outlaws have a reliable match finisher. Liam Patterson-White and Dillon Pennington are the key wicket-takers in the squad.

Calvin Harrison, a right-arm legbreak bowler, is also quite handy lower down the order and can score a few quick runs. Daniel Sams has been pretty expensive in his recent spells and will be a concern for skipper Joe Clarke. The key wicket-takers haven’t been consistent, and that is another major concern.

Nottinghamshire Predicted Playing XI:

Joe Clarke (c), Lyndon James, Jack Haynes, Freddie McCann, Matthew Montgomery, Tom Moores (wk), Daniel Sams, Liam Patterson-White, Calvin Harrison, Farhan Ahmed, Dillon Pennington

Weather Conditions

It will be a clear and sunny day in Leicester with a high of 26 degrees Celsius. There are no rain interruptions expected during this match. It will be a great day for batting here at Grace Road in Leicester.

LEI vs NOT Pitch Report

It is a batting-friendly pitch at Grace Road with an average 1st innings score of 165 runs in the last 10 matches. Only thrice in the last 10 games has a team crossed the 180-run mark. There is plenty of help for the bowlers too, and we expect a close contest between bat and ball. The team batting first should aim for 185+ to be in a winning position.

Toss: To Bowl

In the 3 matches played at this venue so far, teams bowling first have won two. It is a great venue for an equal contest between bat and ball. Both teams have successfully chased a total in their recent wins, and will back themselves to chase in this game too.

Leicestershire Foxes will be out to maintain their unbeaten home record. Outlaws bring a solid batting lineup with great depth and in-form players at key positions. It will be a neck-and-neck contest between two well-matched teams. However, considering the home advantage and the consistency of their batters, Leicestershire Foxes will have a slight edge over the Outlaws.
