Our Prediction is Adelaide Strikers to win!
Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers will be looking to start their road to recovery when they will face each other in the 18th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Geelong on Thursday.
In the previous meeting between the two teams this season, Melbourne Renegades comfortably notched up a five-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers.
After 4 matches played, both teams have four points to their name and are placed in the bottom half of the table. Melbourne Renegades lost to city-rivals Melbourne Stars by seven wickets in a game played on Tuesday.
In their previous match, reigning champions Adelaide Strikers produced a clinical performance with bat and ball to beat Sydney Thunder at Adelaide Oval.
Melbourne Renegades will need to improve their batting in order to get back to winning ways in this year’s competition. The side have been inconsistent and only managed to win two games out of four games played this season.
In the batting department, openers Sam Harper and Mackenzie Harvey scored runs at the top of the innings against Melbourne Stars. The duo will be keen to continue good form in this game. The team management will be concerned over the form of experienced players like Cameron White and Tom Cooper, who have not produced any decent scores so far this season.
Mohammad Nabi and Dan Christian have contributed well to team’s cause with crucial scores so far this season.
In the bowling department, Pakistani seamer Usman Khan has been economical so far this season. He has produced probing spell with the new-ball. Jack Wildermuth and Cameron Boyce bowled well in the previous game against Melbourne Stars.

In the batting department, the side will be relying heavily on wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey, who is so far franchise’s leading-run scorer with 145 runs at an average of 36.25. Left-hander smashed 59 off 40 balls against Sydney Thunder.
The big positive for Strikers will be Captain Colin Ingram finding form with the bat in the previous game played against Sydney Thunder. He led the way from the front and scored 75 runs off 43 balls with the help of three fours and six sixes. Adelaide Strikers will be hoping that Ingram can continue his good form in this game as well.
Matthew Short and Jonathan Wells are quality players in the lineup that have contributed with crucial performances in this year’s competition.
In the bowling department, the side will be relying on the likes of Michael Neser and Peter Siddle to provide crucial breakthroughs. Siddle was standout bowler for Adelaide Strikers in the previous game played against Sydney Thunder.
