Namibia and Nigeria will face each other in the 3rd ODI of the Nigeria Tour of Namibia at the High Performance Center Oval, Windhoek.

Namibia head into this contest full of confidence after winning the opening two ODIs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.  They registered a dominant 128-run victory in the 1st ODI before following it up with another convincing 66-run win in the 2nd ODI.

Having already secured the series, the hosts will now be aiming to complete a 3-0 clean sweep and continue their impressive momentum.

Nigeria, meanwhile, have struggled in both matches and have already conceded the series. However, they still have plenty to play for, as they will be eager to bounce back, avoid a whitewash, and finish the tour on a positive note.

The visitors need significant improvement from both their batting and bowling departments if they are to challenge a confident Namibian side.

As for the head-to-head record, these are the first-ever ODI meetings between Namibia and Nigeria. The only completed ODIs between the two teams are the first two matches of this series, both of which have been won convincingly by Namibia.

Namibia Preview

Namibia will head into the third ODI with plenty of confidence after registering a convincing 66-run victory over Nigeria in the second match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

They delivered another complete team performance, posting 296/8 before bowling Nigeria out for 230 in 47.1 overs.

The batting was led by Jan Balt, who anchored the innings with a superb 77 off 97 balls. He was well supported by Michael Muller, who played an attacking knock of 60 off 55 balls, while Henre Oppermann added 29 off 32 deliveries.

Lower down the order, William Lottering provided the finishing touches with a quick 33 off 22 balls, helping Namibia finish with an imposing total. The bowling attack once again impressed while defending the target. Adriaan Coetzee was the standout performer with figures of 3/37 in 6 overs.

Ben Shikongo and William Lottering picked up 2 wickets each, conceding 42 and 29 runs respectively, while Jan Balt also chipped in with 2/55 as Nigeria were bowled out for 230.

With both the batting and bowling departments firing consistently, Namibia will be aiming to carry the same momentum into the final ODI and complete a 3-0 series clean sweep.

Namibia Predicted Playing XI:

Nigeria Preview

Nigeria will head into the third ODI looking to avoid a series whitewash after suffering a 66-run defeat in the second match.  Chasing a challenging target of 297, they were bowled out for 230 in 47.1 overs despite a few encouraging individual performances with the bat.

The batting was led by Ali Rahmon, who top-scored with 56 off 72 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes. Isaac Okpe played an aggressive knock of 36 off 25 deliveries, while Solomon Chilemanya contributed 33 off 50 balls.

Miracle Akhigbe added 29 runs, but regular wickets prevented Nigeria from building the partnerships needed to chase down the target.

There were positives with the ball as well. Abdullahi Ismail was the standout bowler with impressive figures of 3/35 in 9 overs. Chima Akachukwu claimed 2/80, while Isaac Okpe, Kenneth Boniface, and Sulaimon Runsewe picked up one wicket each.  However, the bowlers were unable to stop Namibia from posting a match-winning total of 296.

Nigeria have shown glimpses of promise in both matches, but they will need a much stronger all-round performance if they are to register their first win of the series and avoid a 3-0 whitewash.

Key Players: Ali Rahmon, Abdullahi Ismail, Isaac Okpe

Nigeria Predicted Playing XI:

Selim Salau, Sulaimon Runsewe (c & wk), Solomon Chilemanya, Ali Rahmon, Olayinka Olaleye, Isaac Okpe, Kenneth Boniface, Miracle Akhigbe, Chima Akachukwu, Mohameed Taiwo, Abdullahi Ismail

Weather Conditions

The weather is expected to remain clear and sunny throughout the match in Windhoek. The temperature will be around 22°C, while humidity will stay at 18%.  Winds will blow at 14 mph, which could provide some assistance to the fast bowlers, especially with the new ball. There is a 0% chance of rain, so a full match is expected without any interruptions.

NAM vs NIG Pitch Report

The pitch at the High Performance Centre Oval is expected to be good for batting. In the first two ODIs of this series, the average first-innings score has been 285, and teams batting first have won both matches.  Namibia successfully defended totals of 274/7 and 296/8, making batting first the preferred option at this venue.

Score Prediction

If Namibia bat first: 280-300 runs
If Nigeria bat first: 210-230 runs

Toss: To Bat

The captain winning the toss is likely to choose to bat first. The pitch has remained excellent for batting throughout the series, and both ODIs at this venue have been won by the team batting first.  With plenty of runs on offer and scoreboard pressure proving effective, setting a target is expected to be the preferred strategy.

Toss Prediction: Namibia to win the toss.

Namibia have completely dominated the series so far, registering convincing victories by 128 runs and 66 runs in the first two ODIs.  Their batting unit has consistently posted competitive totals, with Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Jan Balt, and Michael Muller making valuable contributions, while the bowling attack has been equally impressive.

William Lottering has led the pace attack brilliantly, with Ben Shikongo and Adriaan Coetzee providing excellent support to keep Nigeria under pressure throughout the series. Nigeria have shown glimpses of promise, particularly through Ali Rahmon, Isaac Okpe, and Abdullahi Ismail, but they have struggled to put together complete performances with either bat or ball.

Their batting has lacked consistency, while the bowling unit has found it difficult to contain Namibia's in-form top and middle order.

Considering their dominant form, stronger squad depth, and balanced performances in both departments, Namibia enter the third ODI as clear favourites and look well placed to complete a 3-0 series clean sweep.

Namibia to win the match.
