The tri-series between Namibia, The USA & The UAE is in the concluding stage. The hosts Namibia have had some unwanted experiences after losing all their games. They will play the series' last game against The USA at Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek on 5th October from 5:30 pm onwards. 

Namibia are yet to open their win account in the series. They have lost the first three games. One against The USA and two against the UAE. In the last game, Namibia batted first to put 110 runs on the scoreboard for the loss of 6 wickets. Middle-order batter Zane Green scored an unbeaten knock of 52 runs in 35 deliveries. Namibia had the upper hand during the defense when they took UAE’s three wickets for 24 runs. But the bowlers couldn’t capitalize on the early success. Namibia lost the game by 6 wickets. Bernard Scholtz took two wickets for 19 in his 4 overs.

The USA played their last game against Namibia at the same venue. Opener Adrian Gous scored 81 runs in 50 deliveries to help USA go past 180. Jack Brassell took two wickets for Namibia. After breaking the openers for just two runs, the USA saw the game going in the other direction as Namibia’s Gerhard Erasmus scored 70 off  46 balls. But Nosthush Kenjige took three wickets in the final stage including Erasmus to register a 13-run win over the hosts.

The hosts are in a dilemma after losing all the games in the series. JP Kotze will open the innings with Jan Frylinck. Kotze has 56 runs in three games at a strike rate of 147.36. This year he has 324 runs in 16 innings. On the other hand, Frylinck has scored just 22 runs in this series. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton will come at number three. Eaton has a strike rate of 159.45 while scoring 59 runs in two games.

Skipper Gerhard Erasmus will lead the middle order with JJ Smit, Malan Kruger, and Jan de Villiers. Erasmus i the leading run-scorer of the series with 114 runs at a strike rate of 165.21 - the highest among the Namibia batters. He is also Namibia’s leading run-scorer this year with 361 runs in 12 innings including four half-centuries. He will be the batter to watch out for. The all-rounder has also taken three wickets with the ball. Smit has 91 runs in three games at a strike rate of 130 with the highest number of sixes (7).

Bernard Scoltz, Jack Brassell, and Tangeni Lungameni will be the choice of bowlers. Scoltz has three wickets in three games with an economy of 6.66 - the lowest among the Namibian bowlers. This year he has taken 16 wickets in 14 innings at an economy of 7.40. He will be the bowler to watch out for.

The USA will look forward to the end of the series without losing a game. Saiteja Mukkamalla will open the innings with Adrian Gous. While Mukkamalla scored 85 in 54 balls in the first game, Gous scored 81 in 50 in the second game. The duo’s strike rate is above 150. A big partnership can be expected from them. Gous will be the batter to watch out for. He has 543 runs in 17 innings this year at a strike rate of 145.57 with five half-centuries. 

Smit Patel will come at number three with Nitish Kumar. Kumar’s strike rate was 140 in the first two games. In the absence of Aron Jones, Milind Kumar, and Shayan Jahangir will come in the middle with Harmeet singh. Unfortunately, the middle-order hasn’t contributed with the bat in the first two games and it can be a problem for the visitors to keep their unbeaten run alive. Harmeet Singh is their leading wicket-taker this year with 16 wickets in 17 innings at an economy of 6.75 - the lowest among the all.

Skipper Jasdeep Singh will lead the bowling unit with Abhishek Paradkar, Juanoy Drysdale, and Nosthush Kenjige. Singh took two wickets in the last game for 21. Kenijge will be the bowler to watch out for. His three wickets helped UsA win the last game by a narrow margin. He has 14 wickets this year at an economy of 7.24.
