Nottinghamshire begin their campaign in the Royal London One-Day Cup 2019 where they would take on Lancashire at their home ground Trent Bridge, Nottingham. They did well last season before losing out in the quarter-finals. Lancashire on the other hand lost out by a huge margin of 125 runs in their first game against Worcestershire and looked little rusty in their bowling as well as their batting. 

In the last four games played between the two sides Nottinghamshire have emerged winners on three occasions and have always dominated Lancashire. It is a new season and it would be interesting to see if Lancashire is able to bounce back from their last defeat in the next game.

Northamptonshire Preview

Steven Mullayney would want his side to start the season well on a winning note. They have had a good record against the Lancashire over the years and would be looking to keep up with the record. They have a strong team and would like to get off to the perfect start in the next game. 

The opening combination of Ben Duckett and Alex Hales looks extremely strong for the side especially the latter who has been in good form in the last few months. Steven Mullayney, Ben Slater, Daniel Christian and Joe Clarke have the ability to take on any attack and they would be fancying their chances against the Lancashire bowling attack. 

Jake Ball and Stuart Board form a great opening bowling pair for the side and they would be looking to pick early wickets in the game. Samit Patel and Matthew Carter bring the much needed spin dimension to the bowling and would be looking to extract good bargain out of the dry wicket.

The skipper would want his men to put this setback behind and win the next game. 

Keaton Jennings played well in the last game for his fifty but was unable to convert the start. Brooke David Guest, Glenn Maxwell, Rob Jones and Dane Vilas all got starts but they were unable to convert them into big scores. They would have to fire as a unit in the next game to win it. 

Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Parkinson were the only bowlers who did well in the last game but the rest of the bowlers had a bad day. The team would need the likes of James Anderson, Steven Croft and Glenn Maxwell to bowl tighter spells in the next game.
