As the County Championship Division One heads into a crucial mid-season phase, all eyes turn to the clash between high-flying Nottinghamshire and struggling Yorkshire. The game will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, from 22nd June, 3:30 pm onwards. The Notts have three wins in the last 5 games while Yorkshire hasn’t seen a victory in their last five.

Nottinghamshire secured a commanding 163-run victory over Yorkshire at Headingley (May 23–26), extending their lead at the summit of Division One. Starting strong, Notts posted 228 in the first innings, led by half-centuries from Ben Slater (52) and Joe Clarke (64). Their seamers—especially George Hill (5–40) and Jordan Thompson (3–77)—kept Yorkshire in check as Notts enforced a significant first-innings lead.

In reply, Yorkshire managed only 159, with Dawid Malan’s 64 a rare highlight. Mohammad Abbas's six-wicket haul (6–45) and consistent support from Dillon Pennington (2–55) sealed the innings-off position. Notts declared their second innings at a formidable 393/8, featuring impressive scores: Clarke (94) and Slater (78), with further resistance from captain Hameed (33) and Brett Hutton (44*).

Yorkshire’s second innings showed resilience, reaching 299, with solid contributions from Adam Lyth (44), James Wharton (58), and Matthew Revis (45). However, Pennington’s 5–106 spell and Patterson‑White's 3–40 Efforts closed the game well before the close of play.

Nottinghamshire, currently among the frontrunners with three wins from seven games, are looking to tighten their grip on the top spot before the Vitality Blast break. In contrast, Yorkshire are battling to avoid the drop, having secured just one win so far and lingering near the relegation zone. With form, momentum, and table pressure all in play, expect a fiercely contested four-day affair.
