Rajshahi Division Preview

Rajshahi Division have begun their campaign on steady ground, taking one win and one defeat to occupy fourth place on the table. Their latest match was a statement, chasing down 172 against Khulna Division in only 16.1 overs to seal an 8-wicket victory.

Habibur Rahman was the standout performer, blasting 94 from 45 deliveries to set the tone of the chase. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto anchored the innings at the other end, finishing unbeaten on 65 from 39 balls.

Their batting order has plenty of stability, with Shanto and Habibur backed up by Sabbir Hossain and Sabbir Rahman in the middle. Both of them are capable of adding 30 runs or more regularly, which gives the side much-needed depth.

Shafiqul Islam has been the most effective in the attack, taking three wickets across two matches despite conceding at 11 per over. Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam are strike options who can break partnerships, while Nihaduzzaman has also made his mark with two wickets at 6.66. Chattogram Division Preview

Chattogram entered this season on the back of last year’s success and started confidently, brushing aside Dhaka Metropolis by eight wickets in their only match so far. Mahmudul Hasan Joy smashed 71 from 37 balls while Shahadat Hossain played an unbeaten 64 off 36, helping the side chase down 186 with nearly three overs to spare.

Others in the lineup didn’t get much of a chance in that first outing, but the depth in their batting is clear. Skipper Yasir Ali brings international know-how and has been one of their best contributors in the previous edition, finishing as the second-highest scorer for Chattogram in that campaign.

Support will also be expected from Shahadat and Nayeem Hasan, both capable of adding handy 20 to 30 runs through the middle phase to steady the innings if needed.

The bowling has plenty of teeth as well. Ahmed Sharif is leading the charge, fresh off a strong season in which he took 17 wickets in eight matches. Md Rubel and Nayeem Hasan also chipped in last time with three wickets between them, and their inclusion ensures variety and depth across the attack.
