IPL action has entered its third week, and the Monday clash is set to happen between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants.
Tempers were running high when LSG travelled to the Chinnaswamy stadium last year. LSG's bowlers got them home on the last ball, after Pooran and Stoinis massacred the RCB bowlers in pursuit of a 200+ chase. The match also had a lot of drama, with Kohli having a run-in with Naveen ul Haq on field during play and with Gambhir after the match ended. Although Gambhir has moved on to his old franchise, and Kohli and Naveen have patched up, we guess this rivalry is still going to be fiery.
Both the teams need a win to keep progressing in the tournament, but RCB more so. RCB has just managed to win one out of three games, and a defeat in this encounter will condemn to the bottom of the table. LSG will be aiming to put behind their away loss against Royals in Jaipur and come out with whatever plans that worked for them against Punjab at home.
Kohli rediscovering his touch following a brief hiatus from cricket is the best thing to have happened to RCB so far. Dinesh Karthik, too, has done great justice to his finishing role, contributing with some crucial runs in the lower order. RCB has plenty to worry about, though. Du Plessis’ poor start up top is concerning.
The captain has to snap out of the two failures he has had with the bat, and get back to scoring some quick runs making the most of the powerplay. Glenn Maxwell has looked good in patches, but that won’t cut it for RCB given his ability to change the course of the game if he gets to play himself in. And they badly missed it against KKR. Same goes with Green, as well. He played with intent and got a few boundaries away to keep the scoreboard moving along but was dismissed trying to up the tempo.
Bowling-wise, RCB has several problem areas as well. Yash Dayal and Mohd Siraj look threatening when they get their radar right, but ordinary otherwise. Alzarri Joseph needs to be given a break, and Lockie Ferguson should slot in to the Playing XI in his place. And the spinner Mayank Dagar’s lack of wickets is another big cause of concern that RCB has to address quickly.
Faf du Plessis to score over 26.5 runs 1.85
Bet nowThe captain of RCB hasnt lived up to the expectations in the last three matches and he is due for a big knock. Coming into todays game Faf has played three matches against LSG and has piled up 219 runs averaging over 70.

In the last match, Lucknow Super Giants's decision-making caught everyone off guard including the opposition Punjab Kings. They made KL Rahul the impact sub, putting Nicholas Pooran in charge of marshalling the troops. They decided to bat first on a recently re-laid strip not mindful of the potential consequences of the chase going against them if the dew set in. They walked away with a victory in the end, and that’s all that mattered.
Quinton de Kock hit himself to form, and so did Krunal Pandya who provided some lusty blows coming down the order to take LSG above par on a good batting strip. Stoinis and Badoni are not in great touch, and that’s an area of concern. On the bowling front, Ravi Bishnoi has not quite hit his stride yet. He’s a better bowler than what he’s managed in the two matches so far.
Naveen ul Haq has done a okay job, but Mohsin khan turned the table with 2 key wickets against Punjab after a poor bowling display against Royals in the season opener. But the inclusion of pacer Mayank Dagar, who bowled serious wheels the other night to finish with 3/27 off 4 in his debut match, is the highlight of the season.
Nicholas Pooran to score over 20.5 runs 1.85
Bet nowPooran has been in fine form this season and he has scored 42 runs in 21 balls against PBKS and 64 runs in 4 1 balls against RR in his first outing of the season. Given Pooran's form and his record against RCB, we back him to score over 20.5 runs in today's match.

This ground is a batter’s paradise and the pitches here make batsmen jump for joy. It’s early summer and the conditions are expected to be a little cool and dry. We saw dew roll in during the second innings the other night, so dew cannot be ruled out for this clash too.
This match will be played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium at Bengaluru. LSG got the better of RCB in a nervy and tense finish the last time, with Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi stealing a single off for a last ball victory.
Total aggregate runs over 358.5 1.80
Bet nowThe total aggregate score in the last match played at Bengaluru is 368 runs and the overall average aggregate score this season at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium is 361 runs. It has been a high scoring venue and expect another good batting track in todays match. Our final prediction is the total aggregate score in todays match to be over 358.5 runs.
Team batting second have won both the matches here at the Chinnaswamy, so chasing will be on top of the mind of both the captains at the coin toss.
Lucknow Super Giants have enough ammunition with the bat and with the ball to hold RCB off in this away encounter. Lucknow Super Giants to win.
We are backing Lucknow Super Giants as winners of this contest.
