Ratnagiri Jets Preview

The Ratnagiri Jets faced a 14-run defeat in their last outing against the Satara Warriors in a match curtailed by rain. Batting first, the Jets posted a modest total of 146/9.

Kiran Chormale was the cornerstone of the Jets' innings, crafting a magnificent 52 runs off 41 balls. However, he found little support from the rest of the top and middle order, who struggled to get going. A late surge from Abhishek Pawar, who blazed an unbeaten 25 runs off just 10 balls including three towering sixes, helped propel the Jets closer to the 150-mark.

The Jets' bowlers found it tough going as the Warriors' batsmen consistently built partnerships, ensuring at least a 20-run stand for each wicket. Before the rain intervened, the Warriors were comfortably ahead of the DLS par score of 102, having reached 116/4, ultimately securing the victory.

Looking ahead, Azim Kazi remains a pivotal figure for the Jets. He's been in sensational form with the bat, amassing 224 runs in 6 matches to currently sit as the tournament's leading run-scorer. Batting first, the Royals were bowled out for 159 runs in 19.4 overs. Vicky Ostwal, promoted up the order, played a brisk cameo of 22 runs off 14 balls. However, the standout performance came from Niraj Joshi, who smashed 49 runs off just 27 deliveries.

With the ball, the Royals put in a commendable effort, taking the game down to the wire despite the Tuskers' strong start. Tanay Sanghvi (3/27) and Nikhil Kadam (2/36) kept the Royals in contention for most of the chase but ultimately couldn't steer their team to victory.
