After a loss in the first match of the tournament against Italy Women by 16 runs in a rain affected game, Rwanda Women bounced back with a dominant 41-run victory over Vanuatu.
Opting to bat first, Rwanda faced early trouble, losing three wickets for just two runs. However, Gisele Ishimwe (34) and captain Marie Bimenyimana (28) anchored the innings with a steady partnership. A late cameo of 24 from Henriette Ishimwe helped push the total to a competitive 109/8.
The Rwandan bowlers then delivered a clinical performance to defend the target. Belise Murekatete set the tone by taking a wicket with her second ball, finishing with impressive figures of 3/6.
Player of the Match Marie Bimenyimana starred with the ball as well, claiming 3/8 to dismantle the middle order. Rwanda's disciplined bowling and sharp fielding eventually bundled Vanuatu out for 68 in the final over.

USA Women kickstart their tournament with a dominant 44-run victory over Nepal, showcasing a clinical all-round performance. After being put in to bat, the USA faced a shaky start, losing two wickets in the very first over.
However, Pooja Ganesh played a vital anchoring role, top-scoring with a resilient 47 off 49 balls. She found great support in Gargi Bhogle, who provided much-needed acceleration with a brisk 34, helping the team reach a defendable total of 123/6.
The bowling unit was equally impressive, never allowing the chase to gain momentum. Maahi Madhavan struck twice early on to rattle the top order, while Taranum Chopra cleaned up the tail to finish with 2/14.
Captain Aditiba Chudasama led from the front with an economical spell, conceding just 13 runs in her four overs. Through disciplined lines and constant pressure, the USA restricted Nepal to 79/9.

The weather in Kigali on Tuesday is expected to be unstable, with scattered thunderstorms likely throughout the day. High humidity of 77% and a 50% chance of precipitation will accompany temperatures around 24°C, along with light winds.
The pitch at Gahanga Cricket Ground offers a balanced track that favours both the batters and bowlers. The average 1st innings score in the ongoing tournament at this venue is around 110-125 runs. Anything around the 130 run mark is going to be par score in this match.
Teams batting first won all the four matches played in the ICC Womens T20I Challenge Trophy 2026 at Gahanga International Cricket Stadium, Rwanda so far. Chasing has been difficult for all the teams and either of the teams will look to bat first in this fixture.
USA Women enter this contest as the favourites to win, they have a much more balanced side than Rwanda Women and a well rounded bowling attack that can be lethal on a bowling friendly track. We back USA Women to win this match and make it in two wins in a row.
