The league games and the Eliminator is done, and we are into the big final of The Hundred Women’s Competition, 2021. Southern Brave Women who have been at the peak of their form would be up against the Oval Invincibles in this game. The Southern Brave Women have won all their games barring one and the Oval Invincibles Women registered a win against the Birmingham Phoenix Women in the Eliminator to earn their place in the final.
Southern Brave Women have looked way ahead of competition in this tournament so far winning seven out of the eight games the side has played. Their batters have looked good, and the bowlers have also played complimentary roles in the tournament. It would be a massive challenge for Oval Invincibles Women, and it remains to be seen if they are up to the challenge here.
Anya Shrubsole’s side has been phenomenal in this tournament, and they have crushed opponents as they have come along their way. The side has lost only once in the season and have looked good in all departments of the game. Shrubsole would want her side to stick to the basics and not try to be flamboyant in this game as this is good enough to earn them the title.
They would like to see a good start in this game Gaby Lewis and Danielle Wyatt in this game. Wyatt has looked in good form in the tournament. The middle order looks formidable with Stafanie Taylor, Maia Boucher and Sophia Dunkley having scored runs in earlier games. They have good hitters of the ball to follow in Amanda Wellington, Fi Morris and Anya Shrubsole and runs would be expected from them.
On the bowling front Anya Shrubsole and Amanda Wellington have been in excellent form and the side would like them to show their magic in this important game. Lauren Bell, Tara Norris and Fi Morris have also done well, and similar show would be expected form them in this game. With Taylor also having done well with the ball, the side does have good strength in this department.

Dane van Niekerk’s side did well in the Eliminator game against the Birmingham Phoenix Women. Having struggled their way to a small total of 114 runs the side bowled brilliantly to defend it and register a 20-run win in the game. They had lost against the Southern Brave earlier in the season and it would be a massive challenge for the side in this game.
Georgia Adams and Dane van Niekerk went out cheaply in the last game and the side would need them to deliver the goods in this game. In the middle order the likes of Fran Wilson, Marizanne Kapp and Alice Capsey have scored runs and the side would need good efforts from them. They would also like to see Mady Villiers and Grace Gibbs to score runs down the order.
It was tremendous efforts with the new ball in the last game from Kapp and Shabnim Ismail that scripted victory for the side in the last game and they would need similar efforts from them here. Natasha Farrant and Capsey also bowled well, and they need to continue with the good show here. The side would also expect good lines from skipper Dane van Niekerk here.

The skies over London would be overcast on August 21 and there are chances of rain disruption during the game. Bowlers would get early assistance from the surface. Batters would have to approach the game with caution and look to build the innings. The side that bats first in these conditions would be happy to put more than 130 runs on the board.
Lord’s London balances it between the bowlers and the batters. There is early assistance for the fast bowlers at this venue but batters who spend time at the crease have also done well here in the past. Spinners haven’t had the best record here as the ball doesn’t turn much here.
It will be overcast conditions during the game, and this is likely to make the ball move in the air which will make the wicket difficult to bat on. We have seen most sides prefer to bowl on winning the toss and in this big game the captain winning the toss is likely invite the opposition to bat first.
Oval Invincibles Women have done well to make it to the final, but the side would face a huge challenge here. Their batters haven’t looked in the best form and had struggled in the previous game as well. Southern Brave Women on the other hand have been in a league of their own. They are batting well and have done well with the ball. They would start as outright favorites to win here.
