Will the Srilankan side clinch this 2nd T20I against India to save this series?
We predict that India will defeat Sri Lanka!
Sri Lanka will face India in this 2nd T20 match of India tour of Sri Lanka2021 on 28th July 2021 as it got postponed because of the positive covid case in the Indian Camp in the form of Krunal Pandya. This match will be played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. This will be the second match of the T20 series and a must-win game for the Lankan side to remain in this series.
Indian team registered a comfortable victory by 38 runs over hosts in this first match of this series and showed that their B team is as powerful as the main one. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan side is still struggling to beat India in this tour.
Now Indian side is looking forward to continuing their winning momentum to win this series while the Sri Lankan side will try to stop the mighty Indian side by winning this upcoming game to be in the series.
Sri Lankan side collapsed terribly in the middle overs while chasing the target of 165 runs in the 1st T20I against India. Now they need to win this 2nd ODI to stay in the series after a defeat in the ODI series earlier.
Sri Lankan bowlers bowled brilliantly in the first match as they restricted the Indian side on just 164 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga(2 wickets for 28 runs) and Dushmantha Chameera (2 wickets for 24 runs) were the key wicket-takers for the Sri Lankan side. Although they bowled good spells, they couldn’t manage to chase down the target.
While chasing the target of 165 runs, Sri Lanka’s side collapsed on just 126 runs in 20 overs. Charith Aslanka’s 44 runs from 26 balls couldn’t help their team to chase the target. The tail-order of the team got out in just the last 3 overs and the Lankan side lost the game by 38 runs. Sri Lankan bowlers are looking in good touch but batsmen failed to perform in the ODI series as well as the first match of the T20I series in this tour. They need to solve their middle-order batting issues before playing this 2nd game of the series against mighty Indian on 27th July.

Indian team played good cricket so far in this tour and also showed their skills in the 1st T20I of the series to secure a comfortable victory. Few new faces made a debut in this series and now they are all set to play in this series further. In the first match of the series, the Indian openers failed to deliver a good start as Prithvi Shaw departed on the first ball of the inning with a golden duck. Shikhar Dhawan(46 from 36 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (50 from 34 balls), helped the team to put 164 runs on the board in 20 overs.
In the bowling department, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (4 wickets for 22 runs) and Deepak Chahar (2 wickets for 24 runs) bowled brilliantly while defending 165 runs. Also, Yuzvendra Chahal (1 wicket for 19 runs) and Varun Chakravarthy (1 wicket for 28 runs), handled the middle overs with a superb spin attack.
Krunal Pandya testing positive with covid has meant that some other Indian players will miss the match – these players could be Prithvi Shaw, Deepak Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan. Having said that others might be missing as well and we will know for sure at the Toss. Still, due to India’s bench strength, the Indian squad is looking strong with a good depth in the batting department as well as a variety in the bowling department. The Indian team will be excited to play this 2nd and important T20I of the series on 28th July against hosts in Colombo to register a series victory.

The weather will be cloudy on the match day and there are 20-30% chances of rain on the match day. The maximum and minimum temperature of the ground will be in the range of 29°C- 26°C respectively.
The venue for this match is R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. This ground has conducted many historical matches and witnessed many thrilling international as well as domestic games.
Out of the last 5 matches, the team who took batting has won only a single time while the chasing team managed to win 4 games. So it will be good for the team to win the toss and choose to bowl first on this ground.
By looking at the current depth of both squads, despite missing few key players, the Indian side has an upper hand over the Sri Lankan side. Indian middle-order is looking strong and did well in the 1st T20 also. Spinners are performing well for the Indian side, on the other hand, middle-order is still a concern for the Sri Lankan side and that might help Indian bowlers to pick quick wickets in the middle overs to put pressure on the Lankan side.
We predict that India will defeat Sri Lanka!
